I've heard the same. I know a couple captains there and they scoffed at the idea of a turn greater than 20 minutes. Flights seem to be booked and scheduled on top of each other regularly, not just during the busy seasons. One said they regularly receive trip sheets with 5 or 0 minute turns in between legs when they fly in the vacuum.

I'm not going to try and defend Tradewind, but they do run a different business model. They are a hybrid of fixed schedule and on demand charter. I've worked that side of the business and it is dicey. You can get worn out quickly.

But is it better than being on reserve in the hotel and not flying considering the apparent IP issues that Planesense is having? At the end of the day if you're not flying you're losing out on what you came to the company for.

Ahh yes, hotel reserve. I personally prefer home standby. I wasn't used for an entire cycle in the winter once and it was the greatest work week ever. I would be pretty stoked if I could do that all the time and call it a career. I think I still flew 40 odd hours that month.
Sure there are some issues right now with instructors. They'll make some new ones and it will resolve itself. But the company does recognize the challenges with attrition and is attempting to make changes that will encourage folks to stay. Revisit this thread in 18 months to see how it plays out.

It is interesting they're pushing class out to October. Seems awfully long to make someone wait. And who knows they may move it out even further.

summer busy season starting, the resources are needed out on the line probably. I doubt it will be pushed further. once the dates are set, that's it. also, theres only a hiring freeze for fo's, in an attempt to concentrate efforts in recruiting street captains.
