Does anyone have any information on the PHL base? I was invited to an interview during the first week of November and have yet to read anything or hear anyone on here talk about the Philly base and what I can expect commuting wise.

Other than PSM or PDK, most remote bases are the same. You will almost certainly Airline to work day 1 and Airline home day 8; you get $50/month for any parking charges. We have a handful of PHL pilots so, if you are hired, they will give you the gouge on the best places to park.
We have a fair number of overnights at LOM, PNE, and ILM. If you live near the city, you may have a better chance of spending a night at home.

I'm moving to the PSM area. I understand that PSM based pilots do mostly out and backs? Is that true???
I'm leaving my current position as a heavy captain for a major airline to spend more time with family.... money doesn't matter as much as family time for me. To each their own....

PSM pilots are highly likely to start and end at PSM, as opposed to air lining to a plane. PSM captains typically work harder on average. You are far more likely to do an overnight in PSM, but you should always be prepared to spend 8 days on the road.
We have a handful of part time captains who only do one 8 day work cycle every 28 days; however, you would likely be expected to be a full time captain for at least a year before going part time. That can be worked at an individual level with with the CP or DO.
We have a few retired/resigned major airline folks here. I think depending on whether or not you commute to your airline job, you could be spending as much or more time away from home at PS.

when FO's join up for less than a year to get mins, what do you expect? i'll never be one to fault somebody for wanting to advance their career or try something new, but don't take a position with the mindset of getting out as soon as you can.
