No, this would be due to the fact that you can receive more days off, make more than a first year captain, and get a PIC Type in a ME airplane at 1,500 hours...
I think PlaneSense still has a hard time with FO's leaving when they get 1,500 hours. So, by raising the minimums this helps with attrition.

I think the lower mins were to stop the bleeding and were a reaction to the then impending shortage. But, once all the additional bases opened up we got a lot of people coming just to get their 1500 and go. 75% of them were awful to fly with. Some of those came from a particular flight school that seemed to instill their pilots with confusingly un-Christian values. Others didn't care about the job, including their own. Now that most of the bleeding has stopped we are left with a lot of guys and girls with lower times who will either stay past 1500, and / or who are hard workers and can appreciate what this job can do for their character and flying abilities. NB: you don't hear them *****ing on here...go figure.
PS for me has always been about the flying, the workload (doesn't bother me except when thought doesn't go into it operationally), the destinations, the rentals, the hotel points, the occasional resort overnight and the more than a handful of great people I loved to spend a week on the road with.
For anyone reading who's starting their career, please keep in mind, the 5% of the employees who complain on here do it the loudest. Put in your resume, and show up ready to work (i.e. rip it). With finesse and experience you won't technically get the FBO standby.

Pretty sure that 5% is at every company bro. And it’s closer to 25%. Bunch of whiny *******s.

Initial. If you upgrade, the original contract is null and void and a new 1 year begins. PIC in the jet is the Jet contract.
