I guess I am unfamiliar with that accident. When did it happen and were they owned by XO at the time?

Aren’t the Hawkers managed aircraft and not flown by XO?

For those unsure about this "story"/rumor a little background

- XO Purchased by Vista Jet (Malta based company) Oct 2018

- Jet Aviation treated the VJ pilots poorly I was told. That is who managed the VJ pilots before they were interviewed and hired by XO IN 2019

- Not all VJ GL pilots were selected to make the transition to XO...there were some unhappy VJ pilots due to reinterview for their jobs at XO..I get that and empathize. That may account for some of the negative comments at the time

-JA management i was told behaved as described in the postt? I.e. forced flying, violated crew rest routinely, treated crew poorly

- Since all GL transferred to XO certificate and pilots also, the biggest complaint is still the 17/13 mandatory schedule and lower than industry standard pay for GL. Safety has never been a factor that I know of.

- April 2021

Vista Global has officially added broker Apollo Jets to its XO unit. It also adds a minority stake in charter operator and management company Talon Air

-XO does not train, hire, oversee operations, evaluate Talon air crews.

- The referenced Hawker accident was in Dec 2020 flown by Talon crew, 5 months BEFORE VJ purchased Talon Air.

- Evaluate for yourself the accuracy of the posters statements and disparaging comments overheard in an FBO which if based upon the timeline was 18 months to 2 yrs old;

No job is perfect but what was posted does not appear to be rooted in facts. He/she may have heard it but it is no longer applicable.

Yeah that’s what I was thinking just wanted to see if the poster would elaborate or was just flaming. Thanks for your informative post.

You're pretty far off regarding how JA treated the Global crews vs XO. But I'm not going to get into it, that is water under the bridge, and won't make a difference with you anyway.

First off: I have no firsthand information on XO. I here that it's mostly a happy place. But now that it is essentially owned by VistaJet I think it may be relevant to look at VistaJet in Europe and how crews are treated there.

I have never flown for VistJet but I know people who have. They tell me:

The roster is 15/15 but generally turns into 16/14 or 17/13 with airlining included in the 16/17 days ON. Airlines are generally in economy class, including long haul.

All vacation and training is included in the "OFF" days. So no vacation other than the days off you already get. Recurrent training etc also takes place during those "off" days.

Substandard pay, especially compared to other Global jobs but also compared to NJE, on any fleet.

Why do I bring up VJ Europe here? Because it may give you an idea what direction Vista/XO in the US may be headed if TF gets his way.

Knowledge is power, so I'm hoping you XO guys in the States won't let that happen.

germanaviator is spot-on. Additionally, a clarification needs to be emphasized. XOJET is the company, XO is a brand being applied by VistaJet to several companies they now own, including XOJET and Red Wing.

XOJET was and is a good company, with very good Ops folks (pilots, CP, DO), but they are sailing into the European wind described above now that VJ has purchased them. I hope they are successful in navigating the challenge…

Well they fired our DO. Guess if you fight for your pilots enough and tell VJ no, they do away with you in the end. Still cleaning house 2+years later. Anyone who says moving the money making company to Florida wasn't a power move is in a world of their own. Honestly the SOC barely knows where you are some days. Just a matter of time until they get NV over here and fully run it into the ground. The do what we say or leave aspect. TS was and is a great man and leader. JH is taking over now and is the same. The days of the 'good' XO are gone I'm afraid. Sadly, many are jumping ship to other places. Many of the big 5 and others to NJ. It's been painful at times to watch and also frustrating at minimum to see something go the direction it's going. It is what it is.

Default Global ?

2500 TT , 2000 of it on the global, worldwide, past life was a A&P flight mechanic on 747 and 737/BBJs again all over the world , started flying late in life 50 years young. What are my chances at getting a gig on the global at OX? Any other career advice would be welcome.
