Trying to attract owners who usually travel with 4 or less. No word about how they're going to get pilots though.......

Volato hiring

They apparently are in a hiring phase for pilots. I've seen them regularly on Indeed and LinkedIn.

Will Volato consider a ICAO age 65 + pilot ??

Hello....................question on Volato hiring

Any chance that Volato will interview and hire a ICAO age 65 + experienced flight crewmember ????? I would like to go to work there; but.....I cannot fly international.
Extensive domestic and international experience, 2 heavy jet types, 3 college degrees and no accidents or incidences.

Do I have a chance ?? I live in N. Texas

I think all the Fractionals hire 65+ pilots, remember it's not Part 121 but Part 91K or 135. And the HondaJet isn't going to do much other than Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean. I doubt it has HF Radio capability. At NetJets we couldn't fly the BeechJet or Phenom 300 to Bermuda because we've have a 20 minute or so gap with no VHF comms. And our Light Cabin Jets did 99% of their flying in the 48 states.

If Volato is like other Fractionals they're going to be more concerned how you're going to react to having to do all the stuff you never worried about before, like cleaning the inside of the jet after a pax leg, stocking the galley, setting up catering, etc. I flew with some great over 65 folks but there were a number who bailed once the reality of having to do all that hit them.

Wow .. did you see the Volato careers info update this week on LinkedIn? Did I read that right ... $150K starting for PIC, $170K second year, for the HondaJet?
I also note that while the SIC pay remains at $65K, the minimums are now down to 1,000 hours.

They have to pay that much for Captains to be competitive in this market. If you've been reading the NetJets threads First Officers are easily making $125K-$150K in their first year.
The American wholly owned regionals are paying $90/hr for 1st year F/O's and $150/hr for 2nd year Captains. Plus bonuses.
That SIC pay will result in those guys bailing out at 1500 hours.

More info on Volato's pay and benefit increases: The pay is as already mentioned, PIC $150K/$170K 2nd yr. A benefits package that has 100% coverage for health, dental, and vision. Still 8 on 6 off schedule. More HondaJets on order. Bases: ATL, BWI, Carlsbad CA, HOU, SGJ, FLL. They think the nice shiny new HondaJets with Garmin Avionics will attract pilots

From their website, it looks like home based.

ETA: If they don’t fold in six months (not commenting on their viability, just the voice of experience rearing it’s pesky head…), they’ll have no trouble attracting pilots and the other 135/small fracs will have to assess their starting pay. What Volato is offering is starting GIV/GV pay at some operators. Interesting times we live in…

Any pilot already typed in a GIV or GV that sells themself that cheaply these days should have the rating revoked. But yes, interesting times. Confucius would be happy.
