NetJets Hiring Minimums VS. Actual Hours
 

Just been curious what amount of hours and what age (apparently important) people are being offered interviews. I currently meet their minimums minus the ATP rating because I'm not yet 23 years old. By putting ATP as a requirement for FO's it somewhat implies age is a factor. I meet all of their other requirements and exceed them by a small margin. Just wondering how much further I have to go before I can start praying to hear from them as opposed to continuously sending my resume when it doesn't even come close to what they are "wanting" from the resumes. Please put responses in terms of TT/ME/Turbine (was turbine PIC favorable?)

I just interviewed there a few days ago. I'm a 31 year old jet FO with around 2700+ hours and 0 PIC turbine. My group had people aged from 24 to 51. Most of them were in their early 30s to early 40s. Most of the others interviewees had from 4000+ to 8000 flight hours and a lot of PIC turbine time.
I think the person with the second least amount of hours next to me was a 38 year old guy who is retiring after 20 years of military service, had over 4000+ TT, 1400 turbine PIC, and has been flying Gulfstreams worldwide for the military. I felt a little underqualified, but I gave it my best.
I don't think NetJets has a specific age requirement, but since they operate part 135 and part 91K, they are required by the FAA to type rate all their pilots in the airplane, even the FO's and thus require an ATP certificate.

Thanks for the helpful info. How do you mean that in order to possess a type rating you must have an ATP? I have a Part 135 PIC Rating in LRJET aircraft and use is every day. Is it possible it's just for "the ultimate in safety" that they do this? I know they are all about having the best of the best if they can help it. Thanks again!!!

Ohhhh wait wait wait, my airplane has less than 10 seats. I dont know much about their aircraft; are they 10+ seat turbine aircraft?

NetJets requires all of their pilots to have an ATP. It's driven by both insurance and owner concerns. Simply put, you can meet/exceed all of the time requirements, but without the ATP, you're probably not going to get an interview.

yes you need the ATP, and my friend was hired @ 24 and he too felt under qualified, and was not expecting to be picked up.

I agree with FlyerJosh. The NetJets minimums are non-negotiable because they are literally written into the contracts that the owners sign when they purchase a share.

I am 31, ex-mil, and hired with 2553. There were guys younger than I hired. They hire 65 year olds as well.

Man that is awesome news! Yeah when I turn 23 in January, and I get my ATP I will have well more than the minimums. I basically have 2300TT/1100ME/500turbine/200PIC turbine so figuring at 80 hours a month, I should sit fairly well... do you agree? That's really good news to know that they interview pilots that are basically AT the minimums... REALLY good news! Hopefully I won't miss out because I have to wait for a date to click over. I'll keep my fingers crossed, keep jamming out hours, and hope that NetJets doesn't fulfill their pilot requirements before I hit the "big 23". LoL
