Summary: Flight Options Pilots enjoy the pace and culture of
corporate aircraft flying. We invite experienced pilots to apply for
these positions currently open at various domiciles around the
country. Flight Options Pilots are the frontline to our owners. These
professionals will have superior customer service skills combined
with passionate attention to detail.
Qualifications and Requirements: Must meet ATP requirements and
have passed the ATP written exam; Posses at least 1500 hours
total time, 300 hours multi-engine and 100 hours multi-engine
turbine. CANPASS and valid passport required. Corporate
aircraft/part 135 experience desirable. Pilots currently on furlough
must resign their seniority and any call back rights. Pilots will be
required to domicile at DEN, ATL or LAS.
These positions will be open in our Hawker 400XP/Beechjet
program. All training costs are covered by Flight Options including
travel and lodging. These positions are also eligible for our
comprehensive benefits package and per diem. Applications will be

Great. Options is doing terrible, and they're now trying to hire pilots in today's difficult recruting environment, so they stopped home basing, just to make the recruiting easier on themselves.

Why is Options doing terribe? It is just hard times, poor business, lack of leadership? How do they treat their people?

In a nutshell:
Poor mgmt led Flight Options to be sold to Beechcraft, who was using FO like Bombardier does FlexJet to sell them their aircraft.

But, now Beechcraft has been sold.

There is no union/no contract, and mgmt jacks things around, from what I've read.

They used to have home basing.

Lots of pilots are bailing-worried about the future of the company.

I know guys at NetJets and FlexJet who say they're both great.

ATPCliff, Do you work there?

Looking for some information from somone who works there and is based in the N.E., Bos preferable. I know somone who works there (B400 CA) and He likes it. However, it would be nice to hear from somone else as well.

I thought they voted in the Teamsters.

Anybody out there who works for FO care to chime in.

No, I don't work there. However, I have had good friends who worked there and they are all gone - they hated it. The management is terrible. The airplanes are old (except the Legacies and a few of the new Hawkers). Morale is at an all-time low. People are leaving in droves - Netjets has been picking up some FO pilots lately.

Get the picture? Read the fractional forums on flightinfo.com for further details from ACTUAL FO pilots. Sure, get some more perspectives, but you will get the same responses: AVOID Flight Options at all costs. If you qualify, apply to Netjets, Flexjet or CS instead.

I was in an elevator with a couple of flight options guys the other day and they both looked like they were about to go postal. Pretty ragged guys. Maybe they'd just had a bad day or maybe it was just me... I dunno.
