Cleaning Lav's??

I heard from my new hire121 First Officer who was prieviously at a part 135 fractional that as pilot's we are expected to go back and clean the lav's??

I'm not some prima Donna a121 Captaint at all and don't mind wiping down tray tables , vacuuming and re-stocking the snacks but I will draw the line at cleaning the lav'sl. After a phenomenal 23 year military career and a 25 year airline career I simply will not clean someones fee's off of a toilet bowl.

Please tell.me this is not required on "Heavy" part 135 fractionals? with Flight Attendant?

Thanks!

cant speak to fleets with FAs but yes it is 100% expected of the pilots to wipe p*ss off the seat and anything else that it unsightly in the LAV. That and cleaning up dog vomit that the pax wouldnt do anything about were part of the deal breakers for me....

When I did 135 my job was to make sure the aircraft was clean for the next passengers. That just meant I used the company credit cards to pay the FBO to service the lav or to have a detailer come out and clean the plane.

I’d recommend that anyone in the fracs pull their weight cleaning all facets of the cabin and that expecting the FA to handle the lav while you watch Monday Night Football on the sat Tv in the cabin as you straighten and vacuum won’t go over very well.

It’s been a while since I played those games, but paying the FBO to do it was for abnormally bad situations or where time was very tight. Standard procedure involved you handing it yourself.

I'd recommend to anyone not willing to perform the job description not to apply. Cleaning lavs beneath you? Funny how one named Jerry Driscoll didn't have any problem with frac duties. I'll bet his service background trumps your 23 years.

I’d recommend someone who has completed 2 “phenomenal” careers spend time with their family and not on some internet chat board belittling other union pilots about how they should live and work…. If you’re looking at a job at a fractional after 2 “Phenomenal” careers, must not have been that “Phenomenal”

To the other readers…. At some operators, in one hand you have a pilot making $350k flying a light jet and not working that hard, cleaning a little pee…. In the other hand, you have a pilot making much less and working much more, wishing they could get paid $350k to clean up pee and fly a light jet….

Not everyone wants to be an airline pilot…. Noting wrong with it, but also noting wrong being whatever else you want to be.

But he's had a phenomenal 25 years military career and a 25 year airline career !

Was he desperate for money? That helps...

Why don't you google Jerry? One hint. He spent more time in a certain "Hilton" than John McCain.

This is supposed to be relevant to cleaning lavs in jets how exactly?
