I've been taking home around $1400 paychecks. I have the expensive insurance plan (read big family out of network) and work ZERO overtime. My choice. Don't want it. Don't need it.
However, if you were to tag on a day or two per tour you could expect $1800 pay checks with my insurance plan and more if it's just you to insure (that's free). We are paid every two weeks on Friday.
Hope it helps, fly safe.

I'm an FO that is about to upgrade. All FO's upgrade at their one year recurrent unless they've been found to be a pain in the arse on the line (multiple CA complaints) or unable to fly.
I'm not sure how the $1400 a check worked out to 60K in the above post but my W-2 shows $1400 times 26 paydays a year to be $36,400 per year net. (I assume the guy above quoting 47K is talking gross). Plus a touch for the very infrequent overtime I fly (1.5 time daily rate or $280 or so a day as an FO). Also there is a 5K upgrade bonus that most people mentally tack on to first year pay bringing up the salary to 35K.
Also, as to my tax status; I'm a US citizen, born and raised. I wear a cowboy hat and love G.W. Bush.
Okay, the last sentence was a joke.

That's what I was saying. TAKE HOME PAY.
I have a pay stub in front of me. My base salary as an FO is 30K
Gross was 1779.35
Net was 1408.06 (That means the amount that got deposited in my account)
Break down:
salary: 1153.85
1 day overtime 247.25
perdiem 360.00
Out of Pocket reimbursement 16.00
Medical 235.58 (told you I had the expensive plan!)
Fed 46.55
OASDI 72.26
MediCare 16.90
Leaves me with a Pay Check of $1,408.06 for a week work with one day of overtime. If I did that all year long I'd take home (after taxes and such) $30,400.
That was with the expensive health. If you were on your own that would be free and would offset the 1 day of overtime I did on this pay stub. If you were on your own AND worked a day of overtime then you'd be super rich!!!
Oh yeah, and I'm a diamond club member at Hilton's and super duper deluxe member at most other reputable hotels.
Please don't ask me to provide a SSN to verify all this info. Thanks in advance.

Bi-weekly pay
I think the confusion lies in the fact you (I think) get paid bi-weekly and not as you say " for a week of work" ie. $1153.85 x 26 pay periods =$30K. $1400 a week would equate to a 60K salary.
Ok, enough accounting.
Glass, where are you based and do you know anybody based in BOS? I'm in and out of there (Signature) once in a while and rarely see the p180 there.
Also, I heard a rumor that fo's could not land the plane because of a past gear up. Is this still true and if not, do you get to fly a leg once and a while.
Thanks in advance for any info.

Where did the BOS base go?
OK, I need to correct my former post. I just looked up Avantair again and there is no longer a BOS Base listed there. I could have sworn that the last time I looked up the info on APC they listed a boston base.
Is this somthing new or was I seeing things.
Thanks again
