Explaining Pay Structure:

There is only one Cat 5 fleet at Netjets and thats the BBJ program. Right now there are only 3 airplanes! PIC movement is stagnant with exception of people going back to previous fleet that don't really like long days and multi-time zone flying. There is likely movment on the SIC side though. But, with upgrade times being perhaps pushed back more than a year or even longer newhires might be able to move into the airplane within a few months of being here. But, after 3 years as an SIC, if the opportunity to make more money exist upgrading, even to another, smaller airplane. Its your choice.

Word of caution for all those interested. Newhires will all be place on the reserve 18 day schedule upon arrival on property and until your IOE is complete! And that could be 2 to 3 months!! You may only then have the choice to place yourself on the 7 and 7 schedule, if there are bid slots available.
I am not trying to be evasive about schedules, we just voted in the contract and it will be interesting to see the teething pains during the next 6 months.
Truth be told, there will be much movement upward to bigger class airplanes in the next few years, filled by senior people. The smaller class airplanes will unfortunately be filled by junior folks. Right now, the smaller class airplane growth is the faster of any right now.
For all you guys interested, be prudent and quick about your interest. I have many friends in training department and right now the applications are going out really fast. So don't wait! Interview, get the tour and the pitch. Afterall, your travel, hotel is paid for!! Good Luck

so the netjets pay is always on time in airplane and seat not in years of service, or it only applies to the BBJ?

if you are an fo for 2 years on the da-200 and then move over to captain on the hawker you statr at 3 year captain pay or year 1?

is the gulfstream operarion still separate and non union?

Captain pay or First officer pay is based on total years service. Exception is G4 program and BBJ.
So if your a 2 year fo and you bid a larger category airplane, you simply move so laterally. But, as an FO, there is a 2 year seatlock if you plan to jump to any category. If you bid FO in the G4, there is a 4 year seat lock!!
For any Captain slot, the big difference is you can move up in category any time you like, but if you wish to go backward or laterally, there is a 2 year lock in your current aircraft type before you can do so.
To keep all this as simple as possible, say you get hired into the X as an FO. Remember, you must put a standing bid in for a captain position in your current fleet regardless of seniority!
If there is a bid open for FO say the Falcon 2000, you have to wait 2 years!
If there is a bid open for Captain in say, the 400xp, you can be awarded in the day after you arrive on property.
Remember, there is no seat lock to move from FO to Captain or once your a captain, move up to a larger category airplane.

For all the others, I think what "infoman" wanted you to understand, but did a ****-poor job of explaining, is that NetJets has 5 different categories of A/C.
(and 5 different pay scales) Categories 4 and 5 are paid in seat time versus categories 1, 2 and 3 being paid in company time.

one more question,
I heard ( read ) a netjets citation captain saying that the company's contract offer included a pay raise BUT the pilots were responsibles for paying for their own medical,dental, eye, life, AD&D, loss of medical/license , short and long term dissability insurance. is this true on the contract you guys have just got or is the company paying for most of the insurance benefits? ( are they as good or better in this contract as with the previous one/are they good benefits?)

That was a rumor floating around for awhile. In actuality, under the new contract, the company is still paying for medical, dental, and vision. Short term disability comes out of your sick leave bank. Under the new contract, you have choice to take either long term disability or loss of medical/license. The only change was that before you could go with a union plan from United Health Care or the company plan under Aetna (both paid by company). Now everyone is under the company Aetna plan. No real change unless you were unlucky enough to have a doc not under Aetna (which aren't too many).
