You do not have to live in your domicile, but YOU have to get yourself to it (if you choose to live elsewhere). It is not as easy as your example. If you live in MEM and DAL is your domicile, your plane might be in JZI. You are responsible for showing up for duty in DAL. The company will get you to JZI. They will not get you from MEM to JZI.

... are there any travel benefits at NJA (Jumpseat with any airlines, Discount Travel) that might make something like this possible for some.
No (official) jumpseats, no buddy passes, no ID90s.

I'd like some advise from NJA Capt
I'm about to upgrade at Express and go from 32.80 an hour to 62 and finally get PIC time. CAL plans on taking 69 aircraft, but thats going to take atleast 9 months before they can to anything, if they to anything at all, b/c we have rights to the aircraft first. So it get ugly or it could be for the best, no one has a crystal ball. My question and advise to you is, Do I ride Continental Express out and get the PIC time or jump ship to Netjets, where I hear nothing but good things.

Express Pilot

As one in your shoes also, just ask yourself where do you want to be in 10 years. If you want to follow the airline route, stay at CoEx. If your ready for something different, and in many ways better in my opinion, jump ship. There's an interesting thread under fractionals on flightinfo.com about going 121 to NJA. I would say go read that and see how NetJets treats their employees. I already knew where I wanted to go and after reading some of that there's absolutley no doubt in my mind.

I'm not so patiently waiting for an email invite to interview right now. I would suggest at least getting your resume to them so that the process can get started. You can make up your mind later.

I defer to other pilots that have made the switch. Some have liked it here, some didn't. From the many former regional pilots (and many furloughed major pilots) that I have flown with, none of them would go back to 121 flying. To me that speaks volumes. My advice would be this. At the very least fill out the app and go to the interview, you can always say no later. Arm yourself with the best current info (from the interview and current pilots) you can get and compare that to what you have or will be getting at COE.

Best of luck

Question about the schedule. When you show up at your domicile to fly, will it be the last time you're at your domicile until the end of your trip? Do you hop around the country for 7 days and come back to the domicile on the last day or do you often do out and backs in that 7 days?

My understanding is that you must all the requirements to be considered for an interview. Good luck and keep us filled in on your progress!
