Good question, Captainscopilot, I too am interested to the answers of all of your questions. I will PM you if I find out. Has anyone go the answers for Captainscopilot?

I don't work for NJA, but my understanding is that interviews get scheduled roughly one to two weeks from them receiving the application packet (at least that's what it was this summer), assuming that everything is in order. Interview process is two day, they fly you out and put you up in a hotel while you are in CMH. The interview includes a tour of the facilities and the actual interview process, including a sim ride.

You can be placed into any of the fleets (within reason- they aren't going to hire you into the BBJ). I know new hires that have gone into the Falcons and G200, as well as the citation fleet. A lot depends on your interview process and the background you come from. Many new hires are placed in the citations.

I believe that the company has the right to place you into a domicile based on their needs, however they have been asking new hires where they want to be based, and for the time being seem to be sticking to the requests. IIRC, the formal job offer designates both the fleet that you are being hired into and the base you will be domiciled at.

Upgrade varies, and certainly the new contract should change things up a bit. It has been roughly 9-12 months for the citations and about 2 years for larger aircraft. Nobody really knows how things with the new contract and seat locks will pan out until things settle down. Certainly my buds over there expect upgrade time to lengthen a bit.

Hope that helps... from what I hear from friends over there and have seen of their operation, it certainly seems like a decent place to be.

Do you know if they require you to live near base or will they commercial ticket you into base? I heard that you have to live 90 miles from base, but then I also heard that they will fly you to base for your trips.

If they send you an application, they plan to hire you! No games are played here unlike, UAL. The process is quick, my suggestion is to take the first class date or airplane you can, unless you want to wait while.
In terms of flying from your home or your domicile. Not sure about that one. Its my feeling they will airline you from your home. After training is completed, you will then be required to be within 90 nm of your domicile.

First of all, thanks for all the good info on NetJets. Couple of questions for you... you may not know, but if you'd give your best guess I'd appreciate it.

1. I wrote to the HR department and found that NetJets takes your TT and multiplies it by 1.2 for the military equator... do you multiply all your time by this 1.2 when filling out an app (ie PIC, Multi, etc.)?

2. How dead set is NetJets on this 2500 TT? I have 1500TT with all being multi engine turbine, and over 1000 PIC... I know I am whinning a little, but do they ever overlook it?

3. Even if they won't overlook my lack of TT, should I still do the whole apply to show interst thing, and update my resume every 6 months or so?

It is the pilots responsibility to get to his/her base. The company will then do one of three things:
1. Provide you with a plane to fly from your base.
2. Provide a company plane to "fly you to your plane."
3. Provide an airline ticket/taxi/limo to your plane.

I have requested clarification from the EB on this. The contract states that newhires must REPORT to a domicile. It does not say newhires must LIVE within (or within 90 MILES)

I'm not sure where the statement from the "info packet" came from. There is no mention of being within 90 Miles by Midnight either. The midnight reference was from the previous contract.

Sorry to say it but as far as we have ever heard it is set in stone. It is in the owners contracts.

Regarding your military equator, you know your breakdown better than I do. If your totals reach the min requirment, your in. If not, don't apply, you'll be kicked out of the system. When your sure you have the totals, then apply.

Company does not concern themselves with updating. When you have the totals, your good to go

Regarding Domicile. You can live wherever you want to, the only thing you must worry about is the 90 miles by midnight prior to your first day. Not sure why mgmt fought so hard for that one. If you get a brief by 1900 local time prior to your first day, they cannot contact you anyway afterwords, so as long as you show up on time at your domicile.

The 90 miles from domicile by midnight on the first day of duty was what I was referring to. This is written in the pilot packet with the app. That tells me that I will need to commute in the night before every trip. Thanks for the other info.
