I've been eyeballing NJ for some time now, as a 121 FO. But I thought I'd just wait and upgrade on this side then move on. But I meet NJ mins now, and that T/A looks good, at least on the outside. More and more, I could see myself camping out for the rest of my days at a place like that. I'm definitely shooting a resume off.

There are probably several thousand on file now. If this passes it will probably become very difficult for airline FOs to get on here if they don't have a significant amount of PIC. They want to attract good, experienced pilots and the new contract should attract plenty of guys from the other fractionals with this kind of experience already and also a fare share of regional captains who will choose this over the majors (like myself). I would suggest getting you application in ASAP since the longer you wait, the longer you will wait to get hired and the longer you give more pilots with better experience time to get their resumes in before you.

What do you need to know? I left ASA in 2006 and havent looked back yet, even with the 2005 contract. NJA is a great place and I just wish I knew about it sooner. It beats ASA any day, even your new T/A. I know it's apples and oranges. NJ is a place where the pilots are actually treated right by the company, unlike ASA.

My main question is this... for those of you at Netjets would you suggest working there?
Absolutely, positively no doubt. They are forecasting 400 more in 2008; and you will have 100 bases to choose from. Get the application in asap, you will have plenty of time to change your mind while you wait for the interview. If you bid the reserve schedule, you stand to make 80K after allowances and overtime for the first year. What's there to think about? :-)

I heard they were short of their hiring goals for 2007, which greatly increased those needed in 2008, while hiring has been getting harder and harder.

Hey, not to disagree because I have a personal stake in your statement.....BUT, I am in the current class; I have 7000 TT, 5500 JET (Large Jet, part 121) .......and I am one of the lower time guys in this class of 13; so I personally don't think the quality of the applicants are heading in the wrong direction. That being said; if the TA passes, then they definitely stand to benefit from even more experience coming in the door.

That distant boom you just heard was my resume breaking the sound barrier enroute to Columbus.

This is depressing me.... are these the competetive numbers NJA is looking for right now to grant an interview? What the heck are they going to go to if this TA passes? I agree that high time guys bring a wealth of experience and therefore safety to a company, but there are a lot of safe pilots out there (like me) sitting at 3500TT with absolutely fantastic customer service skills and personable demeanor that would be great assets to the NJA team. But without the opportunity of an interview, they will never know that.
