NJ pilots cannot jumpseat.
There is no reciprocal agreement. One of the many reasons is because there is no set schedule.

And also because NJA doesn't offer seats to others like the airlines do. How could they, really? It will probably never happen unless there is cashola involved.

I've heard of guys getting rides in the past. I think they are few and far between especially post 9-11. I never had one come and ask for a ride. If they could get past the gate agent it would have been fine with me. However, I wouldn't factor jumpseating into the equation if deciding to work there or not.

I believe Commutair and Atlas will take us and I've heard of guys getting rides on Southwest, but I've also heard of others getting rejected. It is not really much of an option to jumpseat for NJA. There is a union jumpseat comity, but the company rejected it after they were able to get some airlines interested. We know most of the ferry schedule one day in advance and our family can ride on the ferry flights, but getting back isn't the easiest and things change enough that it isn't the best way to do things. I'm not sure what the deal is, but I do believe Citation Shares has some jumpseat agreements.

CS does have jumpseat agreements with Air Tran Airways, ATA Airlines, CommutAir d/b/a Continental Connection & Sun Country whatever that is worth. I guess if you live in a Air Tran city you can get around.

Even though flights are often full, I still wish I could jumpseat. That is one of the few things I do miss about the airlines. Oh well. I get about 6 free flights on miles and Hilton double dipping a year so I guess that is better than nothing. Still wish we could get some jumpseat agreements also.
