Flight Ops phone interview

Got a call out of the blue today for a phone interview with FltOps. I can't even remember when I sent them an email. It was all standard HR questions, and she set up a face to face interview for two weeks from now. Anyone on here currently work for FltOps and have any insight on the company, where it is going, what the new contract will involve (besides a pay increase)? She said they have not hired in over two years, there are 100 Phenom's on order, starting pay is $34k :(, and bases they are hiring for are ATL and LAS on the Beechjet. There is also a 1 year training agreement, but she did not know the value. They pay 82% of the insurance premium, vacation accrues from 30 days past date of hire at 10.82 hours/month, sched is 8 on 7 off, and per diem is 40.80 per day away from domicile. Any recent interview experience or current company insight is appreciated! I'm wondering if this could be a good time to get in with a company that may turn itself around, or a place to kill 1 year until NJA calls .

I would take the Flt. Ops job because who knows when or if NetJets will call, and even if they do, the interview might not go well. If NetJets calls, and they offer you the job, then see where Options is headed. At that point you can make a decision, leave or stay. (even if Options is doing well, I would probably still go to NJ, or even FX).....

Good luck

Yeah, I turned down the interview when they called to arrange the airfare. I kind of felt bad because they were sooooo nice, and offered to cover the airfare, hotel, rental car, everything. Then the lady said PLEASE keep us in mind if for any reasons your plans change. They must be needing pilots quite badly. If they brought up the pay by about 20k across the board, I might reconsider.

Floptions management is still in denial about how bad its going to get. We are losing pilots at a alarming rate and there are few if any takers of job offers here. Crewing the aircraft will start to become a real problem soon. I wonder how low they are going to lower our minimums to be able to find pilots stupid enough or inexperience enough to fill a class.

From what I hear they are dragging their feet at the negotiations table doing everything they can do to slow down the process and forestall the inevitable. Until our pilots are ****ed off enough to come together, say enough is enough, and ground the fleet till further notice or until we have a contract, management will play this game.

Until management gets serious enough about finishing a contract this will be a $hithole to work for. Go work at Home Depot if Floptions is your only other option.

Good job. You need to avoid that place like the plague. If I were you I would quickly apply to Netjets - a much, much better deal.

OUCH!

No better way to send a message than that. Voting with your feet always makes more noise.

This is exactly what I heard as well. Add to that we are losing about 12-15 pilots a month begs the questions of how they will be manning the aircraft in the future. Speculation is that $hithead and Punjab will be lowering the mins to 500 hr. TT soon. This should finally bring us down to the Masa level. I wonder how all those owners and customers paying millions to sit in the back of our jets will like knowing that they have nothing more then a warm body sitting in the right seat of their cockpit. Should be a huge marketing edge for our competition.
