Type Rating Question

I'm just curious, if someone is rated in the CRJ200 or CRJ700 from a regional airline and then goes to Flexjet, does their type rating carry over to the Challenger?

Not for the Challenger 300. It is a type rating unto itself.

Oops I meant 604/605

No. It is a different type rating.

Totally different. There isn't even a differences course. That said, many of the systems concepts and designs are similar.

I think what you are asking is; you fly a CRJ at a regional, would that help you get into a challenger position instead of a Lear jet?? don't know if they care about that. At NJ, we hire scores of Hawker rated pilots, and the training dept. throws them wherever they land, the Sovereing, Xcel, the X. Who knows if they'll take your CRJ time into consideration for that.

I don't blame you, the Challenger 300 is one sexy looking machine, and it does the job. Can't think of a better looking jet.

It doesn't seem to matter much. The Challenger sim training slots are very tight, so they hire to make sure they use the slots efficiently. It might be as simple as what date you can start.
