NetJets Scheduling system?

I was wondering what type of scheduling system you guys at NetJets use?

Do you have access to your schedule from your computer?

What is the name of the system?

Does it work good?

Thanks....

Don't work there, but from what I understand, they bid for days on/off in blocks (can't remember how long but I think it's longer than a month at a time?) Once that is complete, schedules are sent to each pilot via blackberry (as they are created during a duty period/tour). I'm sure somebody will chime in soon with the real answer.

Josh, whats up with the lounge? I'm starting to miss scummy, panzerbaer, etc arguing over silly threads.

most are on 7 on 7 off, your schedule never changes. you always start on the same day every other week.

We have no system per se.

The 15 day flex will not be known until the evening prior to working.

The 18 day fixed will be published on the 15th of the month prior. I think we are supposed to contact someone to send it to us. Not really sure, since we have 2 more weeks until we see the first version of this schedule.

The 7/7 schedule awards are posted on a company website that you can see at home. Your current month shows up on the same website when you log in.

The soon-to-be-no-more 18 day with H days was not published, but you could call the company to see what was planned for you. Although this was subject to change. Your H-days were awarded some time before the current month began, so you knew those days were off.

Ok, let make this question a bit easier. What companay does your company use for a scheduling system, ie Saber, Flica, Crew Track, etc....

None of the above. NetJets does not use commercially available software. It is custom designed. Although I do hear it strongly resembles a dart board :D

It is not pilot interactive.

Is anyone at NJA concerened about scheduleing 3000 pilots from 100 crew bases on three differant schedules?

SteveC 01-03-2008 04:20 AM

The base location is almost insignificant since crews almost always take a commercial flight to meet up with their aircraft on day 1 anyway. Doesn't really matter if Joe is coming from Kansas and Jim from Georgia compared to them both coming from Atlanta if their plane is currently in West Palm.

I believe the name of the software is Intellijet 2. It is pretty pathetic and crashes a couple of times a month. That said, I doubt Sabre or any other commercial scheduling software will do what NJA requires any better. The requirements to schedule hundreds of flights in an unscheduled system is just insanely complex. I only hope they have a team working full time to come out with the next version and beyond. Maybe NJA will hire the mathematicians who came up with the DayJet model if it ends up working. I would sure appreciate if they took circadian rhythm into account.
