Hey Geronimo

I have a friend, she did her sim check and got hired last friday. I am out of BVY. I have probably seen you before, ALPHA in bvy all the time. I think I might attend the job fair. I did put a post in the hiring forum but I'll ask here too. How valuable is PC-12 time? I want to fly the heavy equipment someday but where can I go from flying the PC-12? SWA maybe?

Thanks,
Chris

e-mail me sometime if you would like

Was anyone able to attend the job fair today? I wanted to attend but Im a few hundred hrs shy of there requirements. Details would be apreciated

ERJ135 01-26-2006 02:52 PM

YES!! I did attend. Seems like a good company, I saw alot familair faces from the area. There schedule is as advertised before. 6 days on 4 days off. New FO's make 25,000 a year. You upgrade to capt when you reach 1500hrs. Upgrades are based on merit not seniority. You are reviewed by capt board when upgrade time comes. Training is 2wks ground school in MHT then 2wks @Simcom in Orlando. You get your RVSM Cert. Then you go to Groton CT for water survival skills. Then you have your check ride before being released to the line. I filled out an application, even got a free MUG. Talked with an FO that I knew from my home airport that works there. We watched a slide show about the company. They told some stories of the type of flying they do. They said there is one place called the "Farm" and it is an owners farm the they land on. They takeoff on strips as little as 1700ft. Pretty intresting. The only problem I see is the gross Wgt is under 12,500lbs, its single engine, and cert for single pilot which could be a problem with logging time as SIC. I am still not sure about it, if that it is the right choice for someone who wants to fly a 777 someday.

Chris

As far as a timebuilding job to get to a 777 this def isnt the job. The only practical reason for workign for this company would be if you wanted to make a career out of them. sounds fun, 1700ft strips, dont do that in an regional jet. Wonder what captains pay can top out at, talk to any senoir guys? They let you know when their gunna get back to you?

ERJ135 01-27-2006 02:22 PM

Well, this is second hand info but I heard mid 80's capts top out. Not a bad job and people seem to really like it there. Typical of a regional jet capt. I will see if I can get a definite answer on salary for Capts.

not bad for a PC-12
