Thumbs up

They hired me off the street in 06'. I got picked up at UPS and left the following feb. Great bunch of folks. The DO was a bit creased at me for leaving, but the CP agreed that I couldn't pass it up (Brown). I had loads of fun flying with them. A bunch of 300's coming online soon, too.

Hmmm.. I haven't heard of you. But, if I am the guy who, in his own opinion, could not pass up what he felt was a better job, then I guess I have heard of me too. I didn't reply to that to say anything other than XOJet was chock full of good folks. Clearly you missed that. Cheers.

Default applied

I applied in October of 07 and have not heard anything. I have a friend there and he said they hired a bunch of guys who already had Citation X types from some company in Phx. Still hope to hear something some day, but I already got hired by someone else so I am happy. the 300s should be coming soon so they should be looking. He loves the job, him and his wife both fly for them and they matched thier schedule up as well. Good luck and I think you will like flying for them.

That's a relief, I thought I was going to be opening a number of hand grenades. Seriously, in relation to my last post, since clearly I have been 'heard about,' let me just say this - UPS was not an option when I got picked up by XOJet. While working for XOJet, I interviewed with Continental (and yes, this is the dashboard confessional) because I never told the DO or the CP. That is because I was still weighing my options while the honeymoon wore off with XOJet. I declined a job offer with CAL because XOJet, FWIW, IMHO is ****-hot and packed with great folks. I meant that and still do. UPS literally fell in my lap; I told the CP I was interviewing and was up-front. Yes, I did crap where I eat when I left after they typed me. I'll eat that one. If anyone on this forum has a story other than a sincere guy leaving with gratitude and appreciation (and apologies), I'll have words with you (nice ones). If you are at XOJet, hout has my #, and I'd love to chat. Great guys. Excellent Ops. Wonderful Mx. No joke. Plus, there is a shaggin-wagon on premises. DK, had to throw that out there - Sammy Hagar? He's a slap-jawed toolbox next to your greatness.

OK, seriously, rant over.

Back to original. Mind you, this is circa Oct 2006-Feb 2007. Only domocile (official) was SAC, and Mx bases were VNY and Wilmington (forgot the icao). They advertised at that time (probably has changed since, I'll call and find out through some buds....buds, you still there?) a sched that was in the neighborhood of 11 on, 11 off. They (at the time) were very flexible and have always put folks first. While I was there, they fired a high-up guy because they thought he was trying to go net-jets on them(trying to cut corners and pilot happiness). By that I mean per-diem, rental cars, hotels etc...Starting pay on the 10 was 250 every day you were on, fly or not. Captain pay at the time was 450 a day, fly or not. Math aside, I think that was in the vicinity of 45k/copilot, 90k/cpt. I think that has gotten better and will continue to go up. Pretty much meals etc were covered, as long as you didn't 'let loose the serpent' too much. By that I mean, other than honoring hout, keep meals below 75 a day. Healthcare was through AETNA and was competitive- HR was great. Good folks who appreciate the people that keep the revenue turning.

Upgrade time - I think that is probably the most dated part. I was a military joe and would have upgraded to CPT in probably 3-5 months, checkride willing. BTW A.G., if you are out there, I'm in FLA looking at some AC-130's- you guzzler! They are killer. Saw some video of an AC-130 taking out some taliban from 10,000 slant range. Nice work, G.Wh.! I think upgrade times will be considerably longer now. I HONESTLY have nothing useful to put here. Sorry. Reply with anything. I have all the answers, as long as they are pre-school questions.

Hope all this helps.

CRAZY LARRY

No need to get defensive. Just saying I've heard of you... Clearly you read something that wasn't there...

Ok, ok, maybe I overreacted. It just sounded negative. I take back what I can of my rant. Clearly, you can see me leaving was a bit crunchy, if only for me.
