Understand the Flexjet pay scales won't be effective until May 1st and are confidential until then. Rumor has it that the pay runs from 1st year f/o of $278/day, $56K/year @ 202 days/year & $35/hr O/T up to Challenger Capt. pay of $137K/yr. after 15 years. Hope this helps with decision making.

He seems to be quite happy. He got his Capt. check and IOE in July/August 2007[24 months], with a caveat. Through some snafu, they upgraded someone junior to him, so said they would pay him Capt's pay while still flying f/o. However the back pay would not be paid until after he started flying Capt. Then after a month or so, there was a hang up in a/c deliveries and his Capt. bid was canceled. As of the last I heard, he is the #1 f/o and should get the upgrade this month or next. Maybe not be everybodies cup of tea[airport layovers, trip changes, etc.], but he has gone to some pretty neat places. He is senior enough to bid 4 on/3 off. Junior folks usually get 6/4 or 5/3. Scheduling has in the past changed his trips 2 or more times the evening before going on duty. All that being said, he seems quite happy with the company and the a/c. He also works part time for AMR and uses their benefits, so can't tell you about them. I told him, that once he starts flying Capt. he should look into "loss of license" insurance, since he should get a raise from the upgrade, from the new payscale and anniversary raise. This should about double his income. DISCLAIMER=The above statements are just my interpretation from phone conversations and may be highly inaccurate. Good luck.

Joel,

Can you talk more about loss of license insurance?

How does it work, how much coverage, cost of having it, etc.. Sorry, not trying to hijack the thread but would love to know about this as I am moving from the military to the civilian sector of flying. Thanks.

No problem-When I was working, I got my LOL insurance through ALPA. Harvey Watt would have been my 2nd choice, and was the 1st choice by some colleagues. There are probably others, if you search a while.
