Default Comparison

I am currently flying for ASA (great company) but have decided that this is not the type of flying that I want to spend the duration of my career doing! If there is someone who has migrated over to the fractionals from a regional I would sincerely appreciate some honest differences that you enjoy as well as dislike! ie...camraderie (do you often know the perosn you are flying with), enjoy the type of flying versus 121..etc. Other points of difference would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and good day.

I posted a similar question back in December. You might reference that. I got a lot of useful feedback from many people. I think it is a common question. I've been at Eagle for almost 6 yrs, and have an interview lined up with Flex and NJA next week and the week after. After all my research I think the fracs are the best way to go

Yesterday I interviewed over at Flex and can verify that it is a different world than 121, and from what I can see a more enjoyable world. The whole process was much different from the 121 processes I have been through. Flex in particular had a really nice facility, and great people. They offered me the LR-45 in April. Next week is NJ, but so far I am really impressed with Flex even with the pay differences. Either way, I will be departing the 121 world. I chose my 121 based on company size and upgrade times, so this time I am factoring different priorities.

Default Flexjet

FO4life- I think you'll like Flexjet. My son flies for them on the L-45. He says they seem to care about their employees. Even got all the crews back to FLL[where he is based] when Katrina brushed by. Supposed to be something about a raise in May. What little I know, I would be glad to share in a PM, so as not to clog up the forum. Good Luck!

Joel, clog away. I can't PM anyway. I guess it's an issue of seniority. To give anyone reading this an idea of the new pay scales as of May 1..... I did a six year side by side comparison of Flex versus staying at my current regional. I planned an upgrade at both in 3 yrs, and did not include the CL 300/604 in Flex and for current employer used all EMB-145 pay. Over a six period I would come out ahead by less than 10k. That does not include Flex bonuses, higher per-diem, or the fact that Insurance is cheaper at flex versus where I am now. That is strictly salary. Also bear in mind that at my current employer I am starting with 7yr FO pay and ending with 13yr Captain(scary thought). Hope that makes sense. For me that fact I can leave 121 with no cut in pay and not move makes it all worth while. Better environment than regional, nice equipment, slightly better pay, variety in flight environments/airports. Maybe I drank too much kool-aid over there.

I keep getting logged out after typing a message, but will try again. This is pure rumor, until I see something in black and white. 1st yr. F/O daily rates go from $160 to $191, overtime goes from $20/hr to $23/hr, per diem goes from $2.67/hr to $2.75. Understand the powers to be have the latest info and will update the site soon. As stated, this information I gathered verbally and NOT in writing. Good luck.
