Netjets instrument time
 

So, I've seen this question asked before, but................

Let's say you got you "dream" job at a major 121 airline back in the mid 90's. Thought it was the last job you'd ever have. You didn't see any reason to log anything other than block times and landings.

Fast forward 13yrs. You don't much like your job, hate the schedules (90+ hr months), and are SERIOUSLY considering giving up the left seat and making it your goal to get hired by NJA.

So, what about instrument time? You've got over 7000 jet time with 3000+ of that PIC. Yet, no instrument time in your logbook.

Thoughts?

Just take 10-15% of your total time, and stick it in!

That's probably what I would do, but didn't want any 'pencil whip' scenarios to come into play. I mean, the time will NOT be in my logbook. Unless I went back and put it in, which I have no intention of doing.

I suppose on a resume, I would just throw 10% on there. If, during the interview, they ask about it, just explain exactly what you explained to us. I don't think they are going to start splitting hairs over instrument time if the time in question is 121 flying.

I hear ya. You'll probably be ok if you just say what you said in your opening post. Thinking you're going to stay at the 121 job yada yada. I'm sure they'll assume you must've hit a cloud or two with your quals! good luck.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. You've been at that particular airline 13+ years, they know you have enough. I bet they don't even ask you about it. Just take a certain percentage (be conservative), and throw on there. They might ask how you came up with that number, but I don't think they will. If they do, a simple explanation should do.
