When is NetJets switching to the iPhone? Blackberry's are a little gay.

No where in the near future. Iphone arent as realiable (battery, software, memory) The iphone doesn't have as many features, or the necessary features that blackberries has... |
iPhones are okay for personal/entertainment use. For business applications, BB is a lot more usable.Trying to type an email on the iphone can be an exercise in frustration, IMO.

As an iPhone owner and advocate, I have to disagree that it's okay for personal use - it's phenomenal. I'm not knocking your opinion, though. The iPhone is now #2 on the world's greatest inventions. It's right behind the wheel and ahead of sliced bread. With that said, I've never used a BB. It seems that the slightly larger keyboard of the BB might make it easier to type. I think that it would help the iPhone if the screen rotated while using the Mail app - that way the keyboard would be bigger.
As I said, I've never used a BB so I've got to ask what makes the BB better for business apps? I know originally, the iP didn't work with a lot of business email exchanges but that will/has changed. What else is different? |
I'm sure applications could be programmed that would be just as good or better for the iPhone as those that have been custom made for the crackberries, but it would be a whole new and costly expenditure to transition to a much more expensive unit that isn't currently necessary since the crackberries most companies use are more than adequate for the job. I would love to have a company provided iPhone, but I don't see it in my future unless Apple dominates the market enough to shut RIM down or they come up with something new that can only be done on the iPhone and they determine the crews must have it (no clue what this would be).

Didn't you know? iPhones are great to communicate to Dispatch that the weather has cleared and you can take-off!
:D:D:D |
Make sure you have your film school glasses and tight jeans in your trip bag. IPhone users are so trendy.

Bri85....
I thought I would chime in here since I have owned many so-called "Smart Phones" from Nokia and Palm, and now the iPhone. First of all, the BB does one thing well. The iPhone does MANY things well, and it is Apple's first handset! The other manufacturers should be ashamed of the crap they have put out. Battery life is very good considering the screen size and brightness, and the sheer speed of the UI that simply blows away all other phones. If software issues crop up, you just restore the phone with iTunes. iPhone users are more satisfied and use more data and do more, faster with the iPhone. The statistics speak for themselves. Getting used to the virtual keyboard does not seem to keep the majority of iPhone users from doing a whole lot more web surfing than other users, with an unlimited data plan that is the cheapest in the market. Hate to break it to the iPhone haters out there, but it is the future. It's OS is based on a the highly stable and extensible Mac OS X, unlike any other phone. All competition will get better as a result of Apple's dedication to design and UI. Just look at RIM, LG, Samsung and the other pathetic handset makers attempts now and in the near future to copy it. When June comes and the 2.0 software (free upgrade) hits iTunes, the writing will be on the wall for wannabe iPhones. Not to mention the 3G iPhone which Europeans will snatch up rapidly. There will be more apps for the iPhone than anything, and that will be after a total of ONE year since launch. My company uses the BB and let me tell you it is a joke compared to the iPhone. |
I think the BB that my friends has from Netjets doesnt have a camera. That could be a problem with the Iphone since it does, and many people have gotten in trouble from taking and having certain pics on a phone that is company property. just my .02
** not hating on the Iphone...;) |
