Five days? You must be living right (or wrong, depending on your perspective :-) The longest I have seen was 2.5 days - and that was with a broken plane, on the weekend, in the Bahamas.
Doesn't happen often, but this is the third tour like this for me and I have only been here for 8 months. I would prefer to fly, cause man I am bored. Not bored enough to go back to 121 though. |
You just never know how much or little you will do here on a tour. That is why a laptop is vital. I do NetFlix and always bring 3 dvds with me on tours and if I am somewhere with a good wireless connection I can watch movies online on the NetFlix site or free on hulu.com (great for television shows). I also bring 2 books and a bunch of magazines for the airlines and when I get bored of internet and TV. Most of the NJA airplanes now have portable dvd players and at least 4 or 5 dvds onboard so if you don't have a laptop with you there is still a way to kill time at the fbo with movies.

Hotels??? much better than the airlines (Hyatt, Hilton, Marriot) but the overnights suck, no time to do anything.
QOL on the road is better at the airlines, hotels suck, but you seem to have more time off and you actually know where you'll end you. Frax offer you better hotels, but 10 hr. turns QOL at home, Frax kick a$$. There is no comparison, after flying for a fractional, the thought of going back to 121 flying is plain scary (at least for me). Safety: That's a no BS sh-t Subject here at NetJets.. No games played on the safety subject-none! I have never been pushed by management here at NetJets when the S word (safety) is used... Additionally; the same goes for maintenance and aircraft write-ups.. Management is top notch on safety and maintenance... If you want to get fired at NetJets violate a safety standard! |
