I have not applied with NJ but I don't really like the meaning of your letter. What was your total time, TP, and Jet ? There are companies out there that are not sending letters like that.
Good Luck, Keep reading this web site. There is a lot of very good info here.

DMBFAN 08-06-2008 04:59 PM

I was talking about this on another thread. I had my app accepted nine months ago. And just got email invite for the phone interview in august, then they rescheduled it for sept. One of my sources at NetJets told me that they are revamping their whole recruitment process, and because they are doing this, he said that they are going to wipe the slate clean this fall, meaning out of the 10,000 apps that they have on file, if you have not been called, you will have to re-apply.

Maybe this letter is part of that process. I'm not sure. All I know is that my contact said they would be kind of refreshing the system, which means people will have to resubmit there apps. For all I know, I probably should have recieved the same email you did since I was on file the same amount of time you were. It probably was a total crap shoot that I got offered an interview and you didn't. They probably drew straws. I would re-apply.

theman 08-06-2008 05:13 PM

CD...I had about 3500 TT, 1300 large Jet, VIP charter, Regional, Cargo, and CFI backgrounds. 2 internal LORs and numerous CS jobs listed on my app....I will definitely reapply

Cheyenne Driver 08-06-2008 05:29 PM

Yes I would definitely apply again. Do it now and see how long it take this time. Like DBM says, if they are revamping the hiring process, get right back in there ASAP. Good Luck.

NoJoy 08-06-2008 06:43 PM

theman,

I got the same letter yesterday. It surprised me. I had 2 LOR and 6,000 tt, 4000 turbine with 1900 TPIC. Most of my time is with the regional airlines. I don't know what NetJets is looking for, and neither do my friends that are working there. I have had my app in for 10 months. I am going to re-apply even though the letter does not give a time-line. Interesting.

skippy 08-06-2008 07:33 PM

got the same letter too

Gunpig 08-07-2008 07:52 AM

Is this an actual letter or an email???

Sunshinepants 08-07-2008 08:30 AM

I had the interview at the beginning of July, and was told I would be emailed in 2-3 weeks to let me know either way. It has been over four weeks now. I have been checking email constantly, which is a bit draining, but have not been paying as much attention to my mailbox. If you received an actual letter, were you told to expect one? And how long did it take after the phone interview to get the no? I was hoping the reason it was taking so long is because it would be an invitation to CMH when it finally showed up. Thanks.

lizizpilot 08-07-2008 08:43 AM

sunshinepants: what I've gathered from my own experience, as well as reading everyone elses on this website, is that all of us who have done a phone interview were told that we would receive an EMAIL in about 3 weeks either way. However, it seems that several peope have received a negative response within a week to 10 days via USPS mail. The rest of us are still waiting and hoping that no news is good news. The last poster on here that I know of to get good news was T-1A, who just got an invite to CMH on July 30 after having done the phone interview way back on June 20...which gives me hope that all of us who haven't heard anything still have a chance, its just taking a little longer than expected. It has been almost 4 weeks for me as well, and I check my email like 5 times a day now...I know how you feel

Sunshinepants 08-07-2008 09:16 AM

Liziz- Thanks! It is difficult speculating what could be going on in the NetJets recruiting department. I have a friend who just did his phone interview on schedule a couple of days ago, even when others were getting their's pushed back a month. He was told about 4 weeks to hear back. Some people hear that all the positions have been filled for the year, others get invited to CMH. It's nice to hear the experience of others. I will post either way when/if I ever find out!

b1rdman 08-07-2008 10:57 AM

I am in the midst of the process. My TT is 15K, 13K PIC/Corporate Fortune 50 background. My NetJets experience thus far is as follows:

App acknowledged 4/13, Phone Interview 5/29, CMH invitation 5/30, CMH Interview 6/10......Currently: WAITING.

It is a long process, appearing to take a minimum of 5-6 months from app to hire date. Each step involves WAITING. Any company owning an aircraft has been inundated with applications with the turn in the economy...more than any corporate recruiting resources could begin to process. Thus, the major overhaul to the entire system which will take time in itself. By the time you think you have it figured out, there will be more revisions and fine tuning to the monumental process. My best guess is if you have not had a CMH interview to date, you are most likely looking at a 2009 hire date.

In the meantime, stay focused and patiently wait....that's all you can do.

IT WILL BE WORTH IT!

I interviewed June 23 and am still waiting. I got a reply to a query email I sent to Rachel saying things have been taking longer than anticipated. Haven't gotten an communication beyond that. Still holding fast something good will come.

theman 08-08-2008 09:22 AM

Gunpig....it was sent via e mail....Recently after my contact sent a message to check the status of my application

Thanks for the reply... I got an acknowledgment in April but no email yet saying I didn't meet qualifications. If they do dump all resumes I hope they email everyone!

A friend of mine who flies for NJ tells me the hiring process is in the process of a total revamp. It's going all electronic instead of personal review by HR. Nothing is going to happen hiring-wise until around November time frame. I'm waiting as well. :(

markjs58 08-10-2008 06:48 AM

I had a phone interview on June 26th and I am still waiting to hear about where I stand---It's been almost SIX weeks now and I wrote Rachel over two weeks ago about my staus to interview. Seeing as how two other friends of mine had their phone interviews after me and got a written rejection letter last week About 10 days form phone interview to letter I'd cautiously say I'm still being considered and still in the running. As someone said above"no news is good news." I guess I wait also.....

flyboy8272 08-10-2008 08:22 PM

Hey Mark-

Had my phone interview on June 24th - and still waiting, too! I guess no news is still good news; I hope the best things still come to those who wait!!!

A gentleman posted on another thread here he had a June 20th phone interview, heard from NJ on July 30th, and has a CMH interview at the end of August. I'm hoping we'll hear some good news next!

Good Luck!

A320Flyer 08-11-2008 01:30 PM

Phone interviewed this week. I think I did very good due to my previous Airline/Aviation Customer Service background. Was told that's exactly what they wanted. Nothing more than a informal Q & A, very relaxed. Also told to expect an e-mail within 4 weeks, add or take and to expect an interview in CMH sometime in November.
Good luck to all...

OceanicPilot 08-12-2008 11:03 AM

Phone interviewed June 24th. Got the email today inviting me to interview in CMH in September

Disco Dawg 08-12-2008 01:42 PM

From my experience at being patient with their system, as long as you're getting thru the phone interview, getting invited to CMH for an interview, just be very patient as the process is lengthy. Their training is backed up, I still don't have an INDOC date and I received the formal offer over 3 weeks ago. So I'm hanging out with the family (ret. Military) trying to remain patient and not spend all of our savings before I start working again.

flyboy8272 08-12-2008 05:59 PM

I also phone interviewed on June 24th, and also got the email today inviting me to a CMH interview in late September!! 7 weeks elapsed. It is true; no news is good news - and patience pays off!

Hey OceanPilot - maybe we'll be sim partners??!! Let me know when you have your exact dates!

Good luck to everyone! NJ is worth the wait! (i do know how hard it is to be patient)!

Sunshinepants 08-15-2008 06:52 AM

Congratulations, Flyboy!
My phone interview was the 2nd week in July, so I am anxiously waiting. Thanks for posting that there may be light at the end of the tunnel.
Did you ever email them to find out what is going on? I was told 2-3 weeks, and its been 5+. I have not written or called because I don't want to be pushy about it, and it seems that my wait time is similar to everyone else's. But I received some advice telling me to write them to show that I am still interested. I just want to know how the people who have gotten invited to CMH have done it.
Thanks!

flyboy8272 08-15-2008 08:57 AM

Thanks, sunshinepants!

They also told me 2-3 weeks, and it was 7 weeks to the day. (but who was counting...)

A friend of mine at NJ told me NOT to contact them; I think that is good advice. Contacting them may show signs of impatience rather than interest. Just be as patient as you can (I know it's hard!)! Another pilot who phone interviewed back on the same day I did also got the CMH invite the same day! They are working their way through everything - and as long as you don't get 'the letter' in the first 10 days you should be fine.

Good luck!! Hope to see you 'out on the line'!!

EMBFlyer 08-15-2008 09:02 AM

I sent them an e-mail a couple of weeks ago to let them know I was going to be out of town without internet access for about 10 days. I never did hear anything back. I hope I didn't shoot myself in the foot with that.

flyboy8272 08-15-2008 09:08 AM

I don't think that shows any signs of impatience...

Thanks. I was a little nervous there.

I did my phone interview on 7/2 so hopefully word will be coming in the next week or so.

Sunshinepants 08-15-2008 09:55 AM

Thanks, Flyboy! Definitely keep us posted on the interview, if you can!
It's not so much about what is right and wrong anywhere else- I guess it's just trying to figure out what the NetJets recruitment department is looking for. EMB, it seems that you haven't done any harm by emailing, but you haven't really gotten anything out of it, either. It is just difficult to gauge what's going on- I would be going crazy by now if I didn't know that other people are out there going through the same thing!
According to other posts, if we are lucky, we will have to get used to waiting- it doesn't seem to get any better after the interview.

Its been almost 2 months since my interview. I have emailed Rachel twice just to let them know I was still interested and patiently waiting. She replied both times with " Its taking longer than expected, please be patient" I think a short friendly email won't cause any harm. I am usually very patient, but its hard to be in this case...lol I'll letyou know if I hear anything.

FlightPhoenix 08-16-2008 07:27 AM

I just updated my app. online with their new system and less than an hour I received this e-mail. I have 8000+ total 4500+ PIC 3000+ jet. I don't know what they are looking for; however, if they are cleaning the slate and revamping their application system, maybe they are just sending everyone the same letter. Has any one received a positive e-mail after applying online?

Is there any timetable on when they'll go to an online/electronic app? Should I expect to do a "total" new application at that time? Any words appreciated.

Hey Zach,

Last I heard -- the online app system will be up and running in October. Anyone who has a paper app in and hasn't been called for an interview by that time will need to start over and re-apply.

FWIW

I interviewed on 24 Jun and just got word from two in my group that they just got the no go letter. I guess things may be moving again for those who have already interviewed in CMH.

Did the no come in the form of an email or USPS?
