Couple of Avantair Questions
#51
well I start Monday morning at Avantair
interviewed in July
the training is 6 days in PIE - Indoc
one travel day to PBI
then two weeks at FSI Piaggio ground school (4 days) then simulators
no type rating
no pay during training - per diem only $2/hr
you are "hired" when you pass the checkride
one week off unpaid
then out on your IOE at full pay
I estimate 12 months to upgrade
any questions I can answer? or any input I can give?

1. How long between applying, and the phone call/interview?
2. Any hiring of furloughed pilots?
3. Do they want you to resign your number?
4. And if all goes well, what is the likelyhood (sp?) of getting CDW as a base?
And congrats!!!

1. How long between applying, and the phone call/interview?
applied in April and phone call and interview in July - knew another Avantair pilot
2. Any hiring of furloughed pilots?
do not know
3. Do they want you to resign your number?
same?
4. And if all goes well, what is the likelyhood (sp?) of getting CDW as a base?
Caldwell NJ is NOT one of the bases they have listed ! ? (you could do NEWARK?)
you must live within 120 miles of one of the bases - they airline you out just like NJA

Very good info boeingboy1! I was at the AirInc job fair in IAD and Avantair was there. The HR people said that you do have to resign your seniority #.
I have sent you a pm for a couple more questions.

As of the other day up to 229 pilots. Also email sent out the other day - internal recommendations are highly valued, pretty much most of the interview and training slots are filled up to the end of the year ('08). Still hiring but they acknowledge that it may take some time before being contacted. So I guess not hearing back right away is not bad sign, just swamped.
Just reopened CDW FBO, not sure if it is a base.

FO's assigned to Avanti 1 or 2 based on Flight Sfaety sim configuration at the time training starts in PBI
eventually will be cross trained so all are 1 or 2 qualified
FO's fly all empty legs
upgrade projected at about 12 months now - at next recurrent
company still hasn't made a profit - but should do so soon?
a profit sharing plan is expected to be 'generous' ?
what other questions?
