Default Net Jets info...

Currently at Colgan as a Saab Capt. looking to make a move (like all Colgan captains). Extremely interested in NJ. I meet all hiring mins. Was wondering.....

1) What are my chances of getting hired based on my SF340 PIC experience?

2) How do I compare to other NJ applicants only having 121 turboprop experience?

3) I may have one, possibly two contacts who work for NJ. Will this help?

4) What can I expect for the interview process? Is it like a 121 interview, with a written exam, sim ride and all. If so, what a/c is the sim ride done in?

5) Where can I get some gouge info on a NJ interview?

6) I already live within 5 minutes of an NJ domicile. Will this help me and what are the chances of getting based at that domicile?

I've heard nothing but good things about Net Jets and it really sounds like the place for me. Thanks for any info you can provide. Will be sending in the resume this weekend once the logbook is fully up to date.

JetPilot01 asked:

You just need to meet the minimums posted at Netjets.com

2) How do I compare to other NJ applicants only having 121 turboprop experience?

We have a very eclectic pilot group from every walk of life. That is all the experience I had when I came to NJA and they hired me directly in the left seat. That program is long gone but I didn't have nearly the experience as many others that came here at the same time.

3) I may have one, possibly two contacts who work for NJ. Will this help?

Absolutely, please contact them and have them either walk your resume in or send a letter of recommendation via blackberry to pilot recruiting. This will help you get the interview faster.

4) What can I expect for the interview process? Is it like a 121 interview, with a written exam, sim ride and all. If so, what a/c is the sim ride done in?

Go to aviationinterviews.com, it has all the gouge you could possibly need.

5) Where can I get some gouge info on a NJ interview?

See answer to 4. As an interviewer, the information on that website is spot on.

6) I already live within 5 minutes of an NJ domicile. Will this help me and what are the chances of getting based at that domicile?

I don't think they have denied anyone a domicile yet, but I could be wrong (wouldn't be the first time...). As long as you are willing to be at one of the five you should be good to go.

I've been here a little over three years and really enjoy it, especially now that the contract has been settled.

Good luck

That really helps...thank you. Another quick question. What's the deal with the hawker 4000's. It seems to me that Net Jets is on this hiring spree to prepare for the delivery of the new hawkers. Will these aircraft be offered to more senior pilots or will they be filling them with new hires?

They will be bid as all other positions. I'm sure the PIC slots will go senior, but newhire FOs will undoubtedly be assigned to the H4000.

We hire into whatever airplane needs a First Officer. If you have minimal experience you may find yourself in a Hawker 400 or Cessna Ultra but that is not a hard and fast rule.

I conduct interviews as well and you will find our gouge at www.aviationinterviews.com and it's pretty much dead on.

Hope this helps,

Hawk,
Since your there, I hope you can answer a few questions. First, can you give a preview of what my life will be like after training? I live in the DC metro region and plan to drive to TEB for the time being. Just wondering what reserve will be like in the XP. Also, APC states that the most junior Capt was hired Aug 05. Is this correct, and if so, are quick upgrades likely to continue?

Heading out to CMH for Indoc next week.

Thanks in advance!

Can anyone answer my question? If I worked for Netjets, what are the chances of being Dallas based and is it feasable to commute from Austin or SanAntonio? Thanks.

Not too good right now. According to the latest interviewees, the only bases they are hiring into are CMH, PBI and LAX. The more people that turn down the job because of this "limitation" the sooner they will have to open up more bases.

Technically, he is correct, but EXTREMELY misleading. The only reason the Aug 2005 man is PIC is because everyone passed on a bid in order for the junior pilots to get bypass pay. Truthfully, the last few PIC bids went to people with 1400-1500 seniority numbers (out of 2200+). There are still many in the hirer ranks waiting on PIC bids too. The days of the 6-8 month upgrades have been gone for 4 years.
