Default Aircraft Pros and cons

I am a recently retired military guy who is just getting his feet wet in the pool at CS. Being new to the Frac world I am curious of what folks thought of the aircraft they are flying or have flown in the past.

I doubt I'll have any say in the matter but I'd like to be able to make an informed choice if given the chance.

Cheers,

If you have a choice, select an airplane with an APU vs. one without. At CS, the fleet is general is great. However, the CJ3 does not have an APU while the XLS and Sovereign do have APUs.

Thanks Bill, That is about all I know at this point. Sovereign = long legs, CJ3 shorter legs but no APU, Any of the avionic packages will be a step up from the old stuff I flew in the military

Grab the XLS if you can- APU and most likely your legs will average under 2 hours. The Sovereign is a nightmare with all of it's capabilities (great for the customer, but it can do almost anything and you will have coast to coast flights in a fairly small cockpit at slow speeds). The XLS can hit the short runways, but you will rarely get 4 hour flights versus 6+ hour flights that the Sovereign can do.
