XOJet bases

Are you home based like NJ? Or are there only so many bases like FlexJet?

Thanks,
Chris

Domiciles are listed on the xojet website. If you live within 100 miles of a domicile you can work the 8 on 6 off schedule. Then at the discretion of the DO and Chief Pilot you can live almost anywhere and be on the 15 on 13 off schedule. This policy is subject to change, but the CP and DO are very down to earth, and in most cases very accommodating. It is mostly based on the type, and availability of airline services.

I guess it is a little more palatible if they will let you live anywhere if on that schedule.
That is quite a trip but still better than 6 months gone, 1 year at home with 4 months of those spent on the road! :(

Thanks for the greeting SS.

I'm on the 8/6 schedule, have a one year old at home, and it works great for me. All of the guys I've flown with on the 15/13 schedule love it, even the guys with significant others and young ones at home. I think they enjoy the almost 2 weeks off every month. Its not for everyone, but the guys/gals that do it don't complain at all.

So they don't have the Tier 1/Tier 2 setup anymore? Any of the listed bases can be 8/6?

Thanks...

Thanks. I've asked this on other threads. I used to only pack for 8 days. How do you pack for 15? Do they allow a day of laundry or something?

As someone who has done five WEEKS on/five weeks off (in theory, reality even worse) a 15/13 sched would be a piece of cake. I can easily see how the guys on the 15/13 like it so much. One gets used to frequently having a long period of time off.

As stated above it's not for everyone, but if you have a patient wife as I do, it's quite nice. With kids in the picture it may be different, but the good thing about it is that one can always switch if it doesn't work out.
