Default My Net Jets interview postponed...

Got a call from Rachel three days ago saying that my interview which was supposed to be this week Sept 22-24 has been postponed until further notice until December 2008 or January 2009. So another six months will go by being held to twist in the wind. But the way the US economy is also functioning- I wouldn't be suprised to have it pushed back indefinitely.

They definitely need to streamline the process....

Sorry to hear that man, I know how frustating it can be. You waited months for the call/invite, you'll probably wait several months for a class (if the interview goes well) and now this.... One dude said he interviewed and waited 4 months for the job offer, he still waiting for a class. Rumor going around NJ is done hiring for 2008, but nothing official. Don't know what to tell you...

Not the news everyone wants to hear and especially you, but the positive is that your ahead of a lot of people waiting in line.
If you don't mine saying, when did you do your phone interview?

Default My phone interview...

Applied April 1, got a notification of a phone interview May 25th; phone interview was June 25th.. then waited six weeks almost to the day to get the actual in-person interview(Sept22-24); then about four days from going down to Columbus got the call last week that my interview was postponed.

Hope that helps...take care!

My experience...

I am a min time mil guy. I got the notification for a phone interview 4 weeks after submitting my app. Then I got the notification for a CMH interview 4 weeks after that. The interview went well but I got a no thanks ..probably due to my reserve job. They can pick and choose right now so I'm not surprised. Anyway, to the meat of the topic, my classmates that are still waiting have been told that they are still reviewing their status and that their will be no more training this year. So if you want to fly for NJ make sure you have a way to put food on the table because it will be a LOOONG wait.

T-1A,

Sorry about the bad news...

Did they mention in the interview that your Hawker 400 type helped you get the initial call? I am getting ready to start that type training (T-1) but will be in the same boat as you for reserve purposes...

Thanks for the reply,... I did the phone interview on June 26 but still no word on anything. I think I am going to shot them an email just to find out if i'm still in the loop.

Hopefully we'll interview together here sometime soon.

Default everybody is waiting for something

Bummer about your wait. That stinks.

We all seem to be waiting for something. I applied in June. Heard nothing. Applied in Aug again, then got 2 acknowledgements I applied in 2 days.

Others I know with similar quals got phone interviewed immediately. Why?
Who knows, but I wish I were in your shoes.

I can't say what will get you hired out of an interview, but here's a few things to consider if you are applying or awaiting a CMH interview. I interviewed in Aug and am waiting like so many so take this with a grain of salt. There were less than 30 folks interviewing in Aug and about the same for Jun and Jul and Sep has been cancelled. They have thousands of applications on file and rumored to have 1000+ with internal recs. With these numbers, only a small percentage get an interview invite. It's been said by others on this forum and I agree--you need to stand out from your peer group. They look at more than just hours which is good for most of us because you're still competive against 10,000+ hour guys. So, what is important to them? I think the two best sources of info are their application and the pilot career section of their website. If they are looking for it, it's probably on the application. The career section of the website spells out what the company thinks a NJ pilot is. Interview gouge is also a good source of information. They wouldn't ask a question in the interview if it wasn't important to them. I didn't get a single "trick" question at my interview. Everything was straight forward and matched the gouge. That said, everyone in my group and probably all groups has the interview gouge. You only have your application, resume, and cover letter to rise about the pack for a phone interview and then a live interview. Send it in early (the wait is long) but make sure it highlights your strengths in the context of what NJ is looking for. Again, there are a lot of well qualified folks competing for a small number of interview slots at CMH. Unfortunately for many of us, it's a long and often frustrating process. Good luck to all.
