Default Netjets corporate jobs

Let me first introduce myself. I am a low-time private pilot, currently working on an instrument rating and planning a December graduation from college. I have a dream to someday fly for Netjets, however I realize the many barriers to entry for working at such a first-class organization. I recently noticed a few corporate positions that I think I may be qualified for. My question is do you think it's worth working for Netjets in a corporate position, while taking advantage of their flight school to build time to later work at a regional airline, or would it be best to stick around here, finish up all my ratings, and flight instruct until finding a regional to build time. Any help of advice would be appriciated!

The answer to your question is simple.....dont listen to anything anyone tells you to do, and do whatever it is that will make you happy. If the corporate job is something you are interested in, go for it. If you are simply doing it to get a foot in the door, I wouldnt. I have learned that in this business it is impossible to plan your career any further than a year or two in advance....things change too quickly. Find a job you enjoy now and go for it, and good luck!

Hi Martin (haha)
I second captScott. The worst thing you can do in aviation is get tunnel vision towards that one "dream" job. Yes NJA is a good place to work but do what is best for your situation at this current time. Who knows what the future holds.

Have you considered the military? You’ll get all the flight time you need and paid a decent wage while you obtain it. Additionally, NetJets, as well as many other aviation employers, are very friendly toward former military pilots.

The good jobs in aviation turn on a dime. I work for NJA, but I have no idea if it will still be golden in the future. 10 years ago when I was in flight school I was sure I would be flying for United by now. Then 9/11 and general airline mismanagement have left me wanting nothing to do with any of them. We have a great contract now, but it looks great mostly because the airlines have been so beaten down that we now have similar pay. We have a contract now that will probably be in force for at least another 7 or 8 years and nobody knows how much shine it will have then. As far as working for NJA in a corporate capacity to get cheap rates for the flight training, I would say that may be a very good idea as long as you don't plan on just buying your time instead of working a pilot job to get the flight experience. If that is your plan I would suggest not paying any more now for your training until you get the job. Spending a year at NJA and finishing your training cheaply (while also earning a paycheck and great benefits) would be good for whatever you chose in the future since it would probably help get an interview at NJA eventually if it is still a good job and it would also help you to not be so far in the hole for training costs before you start the low paid entry level pilot jobs where you build the time to get to the next level. Good luck whatever you decide.

Rumor is the flight school is closing. Chief flight instructor was trying to get on with FSI.

Just a rumor though.

I have also heard that the flight school is done. Supposedly they are giving the aircraft and instructors to Ohio State.
