Default NetJets to stop hiring

Just read on the company message board that interviewing will be stopped indefinitely...

Probably not. They are just taking a breather, and seeing what the bottom line is right now. NOBODY is immune to this crisis were in. Not even the goldenboys at SWA/NJA.

Yes sir, nobody is immune to this mess we're in, this was bound to happen....over at UPS there's even talk of "possible furloughs". Fedex hasn't hired in a while. And the almighty Southwest posted their first loss ever, something like $200+ mil.

As far as furloughs, I don't think we're even close to that, but you never know..I think they're just letting things settle down a bit.

I believe it says that we are not longer interviewing. That's a lot different than not hiring. I believe they are still running indoc classes till the end of the year filled with people that have already interviewed.

Not entirely accurate...they reported a $120M quarterly loss (LUV's first in 17 years) due to a $247M special charge related to hedged fuel positions.

Operating profit was $69M.

you're right amaineic, I went back and reread the thread on the board. For some reason I thought I read hiring, but it's actually "interviewing"....

Could it be that NJ is not interviewing until December/January, but still planning on hiring in 2009? The September interview class was postponed until then...

Their flying seems to have slowed way down in the last two weeks.
