Default Learjet-85

Forgive me, if this has already been posted. Evidentially, Flexjet will be the launch customer. This probably won't occur for 2-3 years. An all composite a/c.

Word is we are getting the first 4. Looks like 2012 at the earliest, and that may change now that Grob is out of the picture and Bombardier has to do all the preliminary work.

Only time will tell!

Looks like current FO's might get to be the first captains on the thing - because they will still be FO's in 2012! or 13. or 14.......

Did any of you guys catch the mock up at NBAA or any of the airports they've been displaying it at?? Looks like a really cool airplane, and a great direction for Learjet...My only gripe is that the Challenger 300 (another bombardier product), for the most part, already does what the 85 is advertised to do and more, with a bigger cabin and longer range....and it's available now, not in 3 years!....anyone have any comments on this point?

Compposite usually means lighter and thus better fuel economy. It's also slightly smaller so again, better fuel economy. I haven't seen pricing, but I would guess it's a bit lower than the 300.

It also is a "new" product, which we know is important to clients with lots of money and a strong desire to be the first on the block with one!

Speculation is that it will replace the Lear 60 at Flexjet.

I've been told the first 7 and they will be shutting down the line for about 6 months + after we get them so we can report back.

It was designed to fill the spot between the LR60 and the Challenger 300. It overlaps slightly on both.

But look at cessna they have half a dozen airframes that do basically the same thing.

I'm just hoping it can still make it into the 40's in less than 10 minutes like the 60. I'm really hoping for sub 8 minute sea level to 450

Should be a sweet ride and with all the customer experience stuff they've been doing it should be very nice in back as well. Flex is doing allot of rec's for interior and cockpit setup etc from what i've been told.
