Net Jets Hiring?

Just wondering what the hiring status is at NJ? APC says so. However, the NJ pilots I see around the counrty at various airports say that with the economy, the HR Dept. revamp, guys still waiting for word from several months ago, and some deliveries of a/c being pushed back, all hiring has come to a virtual halt, if not stopped. Anyone have any more insight or has the above painted an accurate picture of the hiring forecast for the near future?

there you have it, many guys still waiting for a class, a/c deliveries being pushed back, and the economy (well you know).

Not hiring at present, and its pratically impossible to tell what's going to happen, we're prety much guessing on these public forums..... The economy dictates everything,

I really hope that Obama will create confidence with the people. I could care less who wants that job or has it. I am just concerned with the making money part and market stability.

You mean you could NOT care less.

AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think everything is on hold right now as far as hiring is concerned. Sorry I don't have more info.

WOW! I don't think I've ever had to delete so many messages in one thread. The only reason I didn't close it altogether is because A LOT of people want to know about NJA's future hiring plans. Let's see if we can talk about such a topic with evoking McCain, Obama, Republicans, Democrats, good or bad speeches or anything else of the sort.

So much for free discussion.

Yep, its great to be free to have a place where the endless political talk does not creep into every conversation.

Its in the Terms of Service.

GlasssPilot 01-04-2009 07:24 AM

Ahhh, the TOS..

umm, best American invention...EVER!!!

Nobody reads those things, yet we're all bound to 'em. They could put, "use of our software implies express consent to allow software provider (us) to arrive at software users (yours) house and clean our underwear in any sink of our choosing and dry 'em in the toaster" and nobody would reject the TOS.

It's another sad case of lawyers run amok in the USA.

By the way, in this case I do support the cessation of endless political blabber on a pilot forum, despite the fact that I was one of the first political posters in this particular thread.

TOS excerpt:

"There are currently NO forums that provide a venue for discussing politics or religion"

If you have a problem with it, shoot HSLD a PM. Maybe he'll start a political forum if the demand is there. Until then, the mods simply enforce the rules of the site.

The official word is that we will be hiring "on demand", but with little A/C growth and no attrition, you can figure out what that means. At least if things start to turn around soon, we should pick up also. Good luck!

F16Driver 01-04-2009 11:12 AM

I've been hearing the same. Plus, with everyone's 401K being in the dumpster, our really old guys won't be leaving until they have to.

Wow. I had to reread that a few times to let that sink in. Gosh, and as an only child, I thought I was selfish.

For an update, read my post in Netjets Cover letter thread.

I wouldn't expect much hiring this year. We seem to be well staffed (read over staffed) at the present time. I believe that there are a number of people that were told they were going to be offered positions before things took a turn for the worse, and they are still waiting to get class dates. I would hope that the hiring department would honor their word and give these folks the first slots that open up when hiring resumes.

Having said that, this is the 3rd down turn I've experienced in my aviation career, and if this one is anything like the last 2, things changed VERY quickly.

For those of you waiting, all I can say is that this place is worth that wait.

Net Jets Postpones Indoc Classes

I just got a call today from NJ, they are not expecting any class dates for all of 09. I have been waiting for 9 months since my interview, almost 6 months since I got the "your hired" call.

Good luck to all out there...

Did they tell you that you'd have to re-interview?

tacpilot 02-11-2009 03:34 PM

Net Jets

Yes, another interview if its longer than 12 months from when they called me (all of 09).

I'm sorry man, but in all reality we all knew it was just a matter of time...... as far as interviewing again, don't worry about it too much, if you were hired in 2008, I'm sure the re-interview will be just a formality..... My guess, they're going to ask you if you've had any aircraft accidents, incidents, violations, or a DUIs since the first time. That'll be the whole interview (most likely).....

I'm just glad they didn't give you guys a class date and then take it away. People would've quit their jobs and now would be getting furloughed from NJA.

Netjets is furloughing? Hmmm, I've been here quite a while and I haven't gotten any notice yet.......

Or maybe I misunderstood when our president came out only a week or two ago and said the company is not considering furloughs at this time.....

I'm not saying they ain't gonna happen, but it ain't gonna happen right now.

flyergurl 02-12-2009 09:01 PM

I read that as if those folks would have been pulled out of the pool and hired, the company would need to consider furloughing those same individuals at this time.

Sorry QS - I think you misread the post too. It is great that your company president said no furloughs at this time - and maybe that is because of what UCLA said; they don't have another 100 pilots on the rolls right now from those who interviewed and thought they had a job last year.

Hopefully all will turn around - those that were offered jobs get to keep their and those of us that want jobs get the chance. Let's all keep our fingers crossed.

I meant the company hires you, and gives you a class date, you quit your job, then the class gets cancelled........

I will admit when I'm wrong, sorry I misread your post.
