Define "Nil".

If a business pays rent to a landlord that owns a building and the landlord also operates the business... are you saying that the business doesn't need to pay for rent and it's okay?

I can assure you that business is business and a "NIL" tab would not be good business for FSI/NJA/Berk Hath. If anything we pay MORE for training as "clients".

In all humbleness... go start/run a business or read some books at least about business and you'll see what I mean.

There are no freebees for NetJets when we train at FSI.

On that note... No. Nobody in management has told us that there will be furloughs.

I'm not going to go into why it would or would not be to the companies benefit to furlough other than to say that furloughs are an answer to short term financial needs of the company that have long term detrimental effects on the workforce that decrease moral and product thereby affecting customer satisfaction which decreases income, revenue and profits.

NetJets is focused on LONG TERM money making. I would look for NetJets to leave 30% of the pilots home so as to not incur unnecessary hotel, airfare, per diem and rental car expenses before a furlough would take place.

I would expect that NetJets would only desire to furlough ONLY the minimum needed AFTER reducing other costs. This company isn't acting like it's going to furlough. Trust me... I've been furloughed 4 times.

Not saying it can't happen but just 2 days ago I met a group of new hires training on the Sovereign. We're still training pilots as new hires.

Hope this helps the "chicken littles" out there.

And when I typed on the CE750 (X), the costs was $31,000.... more than several years ago.

An addition to Flylow's point. Warren Buffet does not own FSI or Netjets, Berkshire does. Berk is made up of shareholds interested in long term profit. If this economy drags on to long than Netjets will furlough. Warren Buffet and Berkshire stockholder's hobby isn't purchasing unsustainable businesses then keeping them afloat. FWIW

Having been furloughed in the past from a major, major disaster that is...I am not naive enough to think that it could not happen at NJA. It can happen anywhere, all you have to do is open a paper and people from all walks of life are losing there jobs.

Fact of the matter is that NJA has the ability to weather this storm more so than some of its competitors. Just because they might be able to justify furloughing by some measure of pilots to aircraft ratio or similiar accounting benchmark does not mean that they will.

Management could have furloughed me at JB, the numbers said they should, but they didn't. Just my two cents.

Yes we know that..... Nobody is saying NJA will never furlough, we're saying there no plans to furlough RIGHT NOW..... And like everything else in aviation, subject to change. Hell we could wake up tomorrow and get "the phone call".....

There are a few guys older than that, yes. I saw one who looked like he was pushing 80. He had to be in his 70's at least.
