Netjets minimums

I'm wondering if I have a shot at Netjets? I have 2500 total, over 500 hours 135 experience and 1000 multi, primarily in a Baron. I only have 50 hours turbine in a King Air 200. Do I need more turbine time?

I have 6500 TT, over 3000heavy jet and over 4000 turbine. I haven't heard form them .

I am typed in the 747-400 and I currently work for Jetblue. I am still waiting for an interview.

greedyairlineexec 05-13-2006 02:45 PM

got my jetblue interview tuesday ridendrive, how do you like it compared with long haul?

RideandDrive 05-13-2006 04:12 PM

Not really my thing when the money figures in with the commute/crashpad in JFK. Too few days at home for me, but a lot of guys dig the passenger airline thing.

You never know until you apply. If you meet the mins, send your stuff in.

I spoke with one of their recruiter-types last week and asked him the same question- he said that people can and have been hired with the minimums... whatever that is worth to you.

Snips 05-19-2006 10:28 AM

Thanks Jared, I spoke with a pilot that has been working there for 4 years and he said plenty of guys are being hired at minnimums, and I've yet to come across a Netjet pilot that didn't like his job! I'll be sending in my resume soon!

Got an interview

I mailed the application package back to NJA about 3-4 weeks ago and just got the e-mail this morning offering an interview date in July. I have a little over 5000 hours (all military) with about 3400 turbine PIC. I had one internal recommendation, but it was from a brand new hire, so I don't know how much it helped.

Good luck,
Sweendawg

I know its been said quite a few times, but hours aren't nearly as important as who you know. Guys with good connections get hired with incredibly low time and lots of guys with loads of PIC jet time won't get a call with out a hook-up

No one gets hired with "incredibly low" time, unless you consider 2500tt low. Connections don't do much for getting you hired here, it may move your application up the stack, but the offer is based on time/currency/attitude.

Speaking about hours, I know some airlines multiply military hours by a .2 or .3 factor per sortie, depending on the company. Does anyone know any of the fractional companies that do the same? If so, then I can start mailing those things out tomorrow! Otherwise, I'll have to wait a few more months. Thanks for the help.

I believe NetJets uses a 1.3, Citation Shares doesn't use a conversion and Flex is 1.2... Not positiveon these, but it is what I've heard.

A few questions about NetJets. On the pay chart for NetJets, it stops after 5 years for newly hired f/o’s, does that mean that once hired, you pretty much upgrade from the BE-400 and the DA-2000 after 5 years to bigger equipments? Would you be eligible for a f/o seat on the 737 after those 5yrs if there was an open bid or would you have to gain some more time in their heavier equipments? Also do you guys/ gals know anyone who is actually happy flying on reserve, even though they have a good seniority number?

After 5 years there is a COLA adjustment.

Currently FO upgrades are going to smaller aircraft, not larger.

I think it is safe to say that anyone hired today will never see a seat in the BBJ, even as an FO. There are only 3 BBJs and they are EXTREMELY senior.

I believe there is somewhere between 12 to 14 percent of the pilots who are on reserve and I believe less than 10 total who are not voluntarily on the reserve schedule. Most of them do it for the money and know what they are getting themselves into when they sign up for it. A 5th year captain makes about $16000 more per year on reserve and I have flown with a few of those guys who are quite happy to make that much more. I have been on reserve for 5 months and I've only worked the full 18 the first month while in training and then again last month when I did multiple extended days. The reserve here has more days off than most airlines (at least at the regional level) reserve minimum days off.
