Sounds as though nothing has changed, other than that Steve has been able to convince a string of investors to continue to keep the company afloat. That said, there is a nitch for the Avanti in a fractional model.

We have seen this so many times before. It’s the same MO: pilot applies for job - pilot gets job - pilot doesn’t like job - pilot leaves job - pilot lashes out at previous job like it was the company’s fault they weren’t a fit.

I get a bit ticked off when some one with a grudge tries to hurt the 500 some employees we have working here with unnecessary negativity. In this economy, it’s just not necessary. It is not just pilots that read these boards.

I fully expect that all the other past pilots who for whatever reason didn’t work out like NYSPK9, will pop up and make the same claims they have been making since they left years ago.

BeenThereDoneIt composed a gripes list, put in enough half truths to make it look like he was being objective and then posted on two (or more) different pilot boards. He obviously has an axe to grind. And, like posters in the past, he is going to try his best to make himself feel better. Good Luck, but my suggestion to him would be to move along.

BTW, If BTDI was being honest in his above post concerning his corporate experience, he would have told you that he has minimal time flying corporate, most of his brief flying career has been as a flight instructor and he has not held a flying job other than instructor in his life. While he may have done some corporate flying, it wasn’t more than 150 hours spread over 5 years. He would also tell you he left Avantair to get an instructing job with the government.

I posted a version of this on Flight Info also since BTDI seems to want to spread his bs propaganda as much as possible.

BM, you were one of the pilots that I mentioned who were safety conscience and professional. I enjoyed flying with you. I wish you and your company all the best. Your attitude here won't change my opinion of you. But you are starting to sound a lot like "Glass". That's one heck of a stigma to live with. Peace!

Though I thought the original post was informative, I wouldn't air such specifics on public forums. I think people have delusions of granger about this industry. Grass is always greener syndrome.

No operation is perfect and with all the available info on these operations its easy to see what your getting into. I guess some folks like to have the last word "take that" as they ride off into the sunset.

Look on the bright side. One less FO whining for 7 days straight and hopefully another opening for a better fit.

reading between the lines, it was negative. easy to forget that flying is in fact a job. it requires hard work, committment and sacrafice. we're not talking about some guy flying his cub around the fields on the weekend. its a job and its a career and it doesn't come easy

That's a load, I see too many pilots pull out the old "that's why they call it Work, not Fun" card to rationalize the miserable industry practices they force themselves to choke down on a daily basis just so that they can be allowed to Fly Airplanes for a living.

The fact is the Industry has been loosing ground in regards to Quality of Life and Compensation, while the rest of the Professional world has been Improving both counts by leaps and bounds. I have to use more then one hand to count the number of friends I have dragging home high five figure incomes with 4 years of community college and a couple years in company under their belt. And they get to be home every night and every Holiday. And you know what? They don't do anything worth a dime. Just shove paper around and get stressed out over lame office politics.

The aviation industry has learned it can walk all over Pilots and they won't say a peep about it because they HAVE to fly for a living. The Industry has dragged the professional integrity of the entire Piloting community into the gutter and the GOTTA FLY attitude gave them the leverage to do it.

Ours is the only "Profession" that lacks a peer regulaitng body designed to prevent this kind of wholesale degredation of it's professionals. I put in 9 years of solid hard work, commitment, and sacrifice to end up surrounded by miserable cynics beaten down into a state of resigned self loathing and near criminal negligence of duty. All because they sacrificed, and worked hard, and commited their lives to flying, and found only resentment and disregard by the industry who NEEDS them for their skills and profesional talents.

But we still fly, because by god it truely is the most rewarding work a body can do. But it's time to stop sugar coating the crap. There are a lot of bad companys out there getting away with a lot of bad things. It's time more Pilots complained, and it's damn sure time more pilots listened to them.

Guildenstern, you poor tortured soul. As if that post was at all necessary to futher my point. As long as we take these jobs as they are, they will not get better. So take it or leave it. There is no sugar coating here.

What's that supposed to mean? I've haven't said a word about your rant.
