ERJF15,

Number 9 refers to the amount of weight you will gain from all the tasty crew meals. You really have to watch yourself on the road, because on the plane you will never go hungry, if you know what I mean. I gave so much leftover food to the FBO line dogs, and threw an equal amount away in my time at Netjets...it would make you shake your head in disbelief.

Cleaning the lavs...the line dogs service the lav from the outside on the Citation X...just like you would on an RJ. I think that the only jets that have a honey bucket are the U-Boat and the Beech Jet. As far as cleaning the interior of the lav, that's you brother. In my short stay at Netjets, the interior of the lav never required more that a quick spray and wipedown...couple of minutes tops.

Tip a line guy and they can take care of all that (clean, vacuum, etc.). Tips are reimburseable by the company. Just need to make sure it gets done.

Ummm...line DOGS? I've honestly never heard that term before. But it's pretty jerky if you ask me.

I guess this is when this post goes down hill. It's not jerky. I was an AF Crew Chief and we were called Crew Dawgs. So I know where he's coming from. He's not calling them dogs in the way you're thinking

ERJF15,

Think of the day to day operations as being on reserve and continually being reassigned.

The most you can do in a day is be on duty 14hrs and the shortest rest is 10hrs.

Day 1 and Day 7 are no stress, company sponsored commutes to/from your aircraft.

What? That's the worst example I've ever heard of. That's like me saying being a regional FO is like being a porn star because in both cases you're constantly being screwed.

ERJF15, I came from Eagle and am now fortunate enough to be at NetJets. I'll try to give you a little more info when I get to the hotel tonight.....provided I don't get reassigned 6 times today like I did at Eagle

You may want to look at flight info, there is a thread over there discussing 121 vs. NJA. It's old, so you'll need to do a little digging to find it.

Trust me, it's a term of admiration. The line dogs are the guys that make things happen. They are the guys that fuel and service your aircraft; the guys that do all the countless, thankless jobs out there, and aren't getting rich doing it.

How long have you been around aviation?
