NetJets Furloughing?
#41
Hot off the press: NJs will not be furloughing due to the enormous success of the voluntary measures! Most managements would have just furloughed and forgot about it. Props to NJ leadership, management, pilot, and FA groups for pulling together. Our numbers are starting to look up too. For those of us who are posting specific (albeit erroneous) numbers about our company, please stop spreading rumors on a public message board.

Speculation is what an informative website is about in many ways. Obviously there was speculation, and even a possiblity of furlough, thus the actions taken by management to prevent such an occurance. Thanks to those that have posted the most recent information that there will be no furlough - that is excellent news. Now....keeping the information flowing. Many people want/need to know what is happening in the industry (me included!)

Speculation is great, but when NJ employees are posting SPECIFIC sensitive information, that's another story. Luckily, both the numbers posted were in error. The main point that needed to go out is that NJ was considering furloughs for junior crewmembers but due to an overwelming effort by the pilot and other groups, we don't need to anymore!
Congrats by the way!!!

This forum is a great source of information. Not being connected with the fractional sector, it still gives me some good info on what is happening to the industry. As with any other source of information, I take all of the numbers with a grain of salt until I see them officially posted by the companies involved.
The postings give me some great insight into what others in my field are going through and what trends may eventually affect me as well.
Thanks to all who have posted

Still no plans for furlough. Over 200 between NJA and NJI taking the early out and a huge percentage taking reduced schedules and extra time off instead of cash has avoided a furlough for now. Nobody really knows for sure how things will work out. To avoid furloughs the pilots need to maintain the reduced schedules (all are voluntary) and NetJets needs to avoid losing more customers than they bring in. The big man says he doesn't expect to see growth for probably at least another 2 to 3 years so the big thing now is to keep the current customers happy so they will stay. I guess a furlough wouldn't shock me, but one happening in the next 6 months would.

With the reductions I am wondering...is NJ still a great place to work even with the reduced schedule? I remember lots of guys talking about the great QOL, is that still the case? Is the company still paying for all your travel costs to get to/from work and letting you keep the airline and hotel miles?
