Yes,

The reduced schedules are voluntary, there is a little worry among the pilot group (as there is with most pilot groups right now). Other than that, nothing has changed.

Why doesn't the NJ pilot group as a whole taken a 12 month reduction in pay (percentage so it is fair to everyone) and make it to where your fellow pilots at the bottom can stay employed?

They haven't furloughed, why would they need to give up more?

nobody has been furloughed at NJ. there is a great amount of effort throughout the pilot group to do what they can to keep everyone employed, and it's worked so far...

Because time and time again it has been shown that pay reductions do not save jobs. If NetJets is overstaffed by 200 pilots (I'm making that number up) and reduces everyones pay by 15%, the company is still overstaffed by 200 pilots. I don't believe that there are many companies out there that wouldn't look to the overstaffing issue if further cuts were required regardless of whether the pilots took a pay reduction. I further believe that this is the sentiment of many of the pilots in this group and that concessions are not going to happen in the near future.

IF they do furlough the bottom 200 guys (hope those predictions are wrong!) will someone hired in the late 2006 be safe?

Also, pardon my ignorance but does NJ operate part 135 or 91? If so, did the age 65 rule change anything for y'all at all? I'm assuming that there's no retirement age limit under part 91 but maybe I got it all wrong?

Top of my head, I believe it's 91 subpart K.

I think this means, aircraft operated fractionally, they still need to adhere to certain duty regs for crews and performance related items for the aircraft.

As far as I know 135 or 91 doesn't have any retirement age.

Perhaps someone can chime in with the truth

91, 91k, and 135, no retirement age-if you can pass physical you can fly. As far as furlough numbers are concerned-don't concern yourself.

Not sure what you mean by that? A friend was hired in 2006, am I not allowed to be concerned on his behalf? Maybe I misunderstood what you meant but this seems to be a strange reply for sure...

Thanks for the other clarifications everyone...
