Count me in.

ATP, 3600+ TT, 3400+ Turbine, 3,200+ ME, and 2,800 PIC and have had my application in for well over 1 year and updated monthly until they let some people go. I haven't received anything back except for the [received your application] automated e-mail response.

I'm thinking that XOJet might be much more interested in people with a connection inside the company, and like others have said, in this market that doesn't suprise me.

I have heard that as well. Perhaps a type rating in the X or 300 would open the door a bit faster.....perhaps....

Agreed. As a business I would like to see that of course; as a prosepctive pilot - that is a deal breaker for me obviously. I need to find a place willing to take chance of someone without a type rating. I'm not going out to get one so that isn't an option for me.

I'm not sure it is true or just my perception from these boards - but XOJet seems to be the hardest fractional type of business to break into too. On APC I've heard people getting jobs with NJA, CitationAir, and even hiring news on Avantair; but I've never really seen much about XOJet. More so than some of the others I think you need a recommendation from the inside.
Navajo31 - how is FlexJet currently doing? In better times - was an inside recommendation basically required for consideration?

Thanks for the illuminating contributions folks. I won't be holding my breath (especially in this market) but I will keep knocking on the door. Good luck to all you fellow hopefuls out there...

Here's some recent news for ya... A friend of mine interviewed at XO some time back and was offered a position... The economy tanked and my friend was put into the new hire class pool. Well, as it turns out due to the amount of time that has passed XO has decided to remove my friend from the pool and invited my friend to continue to update their application and resume online and maybe just maybe one day will receive another interview opportunity. Real nice huh? Oh, and not even a call either just a form letter!

Your friend will most likely get first dibs at an interview, tell him to get in contact with the person that gave him a rec.

And 390, do him a favor. The pool was not deep. You are really not helping your friends chances if someone figures out who he is. He still has a good shot of being one of the next guys on the line, but not if anyone thinks he's already whining and talking smack.

I do get you're frustration, but keep the companies perspective in mind. Some of those in the pool may not have flown in the past year and a half or more, and god only knows what else may have occurred. If your friend got through the interview once, he will very likely make it through again. I do hope everyone affected is online at XO soon.

Please have him contact the person who recommended him.

Also, in response to some of the earlier posts, Don't worry about not having a type rating in one of XO's airplanes. It's not a significant factor. But yes, having an internal recommendation does help considerably.

I received an automated confirmation on the initial app, but not on any of my updates.

Don -

I received the following e-mail in Nov '08 when I made my initial on-line application. I updated my hours every month for the next 13 months (not that they change that much) to keep it fresh. I did not receive any further e-mail notifications. I have not updated in 2010.
