Has NetJets become a used aircraft broker?

Continue to stick you head in the sand! The truth sometimes hurts.
Yes the owners have been hurt in other investments which is exactly the point.
Money is not flowing as freely, they have gotten smarter and NJA is not about a new aircraft taking you to your destination. Quite the contrary. NetJets was built on it's own version of a ponzi scheme: Sell new aircraft at overinflated full retail prices to newbi owners. Resell the aircraft 5 years later at below market rates, collect a remarketing fee and sell the owner another inflated price aircraft.
The business of moving aircraft has never made NJA a penny. Sales drove the business. Where is the new money coming from? What is NJA to do when they cannot get rid of old aircraft? NJA will succeed but the model will change drastically from what we know it as.
Is your company out of harm's way Topgun?? I assume your company's business model is up todate, you guys are still taking new aircraft and your owner/passengers are happier than ever???

Not to knock QS , I personally have alot of friends there , and even have a cousin who is an assistant CP . That being said, I don't see how they do so much business with the prices they charge. You can charter a whole lot cheaper.

We chartered a global for a european trip a while back, and the charter was almost half of what nj could do it for. And the SERVICE was better, trust me.
Not knocking NJ, you guys do a hell of a job, but it's the overprice for the same level of service as some other providers is what i'm saying.

I want to be there
With everything I have seen and heard about NJA, it sounds exactly like the kind of place I would like to work. Ran in to 4 NJA pilots in Houston last week. Got to talk about what they do and how they do it. They provide a consistant level of service that can be counted on by their owners. There is value in that. I have been involved in engineering for 20 years, and all engineers are not the same, nor worth the same with the same degree and same number of years of experience. Being better than everyone else at what you do is worth extra money. Hope I can fly with ya'll some day.

I've heard from our upper management that the cheap charter prices you mention are a fact. NJA management knows of this and talks about it during recurrent. 2 things I remember from my last recurrent that stuck out.
1. The charter market is dirt cheap right now. 135 operators are almost giving away flights just to keep their aircraft moving.
2. XO Jets is charging 17k New York to LA.
Both may grab some customers but are not sustainable. We are not going to play that game.
Here is my personal take on the above. This is a $hitty time for everyone right now.

Brother Salty ! I take 2 things away from all of the above, 1. When you are no.1 the competition will stop at nothing to bring you down, thats business, bring it on !and 2. Living well, and doing well is always the best revenge,at any rate your response was cogent, and well said ! See you on the skyroad !
