Excel training

Going to start flying Citation Excel. Never been to Simuflite or Flight Safety. Any pros/cons of either school for those have been to either one in their Excel program?

When you say rubber tail exactly what do you mean?

Moving tail makes the stall series fun(interesting). FSI program is very user friendly. You won't have any probs. PM if you have any ?'s. Don't lose any sleep over it, seriously.

It has a two-position horizontal stabilizer. When you move the flaps down out of 0, the front of the stab moves down to compensate. Flaps move in about five seconds. Tail takes about 25. Hilarity ensues. :D

Been to FlightSafety for the Excel initial/recurrent. I've also been to Simuflite for a couple of other types. They've both worked with pilots from all different backgrounds. Just show up relaxed and with a positive attitude and they'll get you through it.

So, compare programs and pricing between the two. Also, I suggest negotiating your class/sim schedule.

There are a few study guides floating around for the Excel (thanks to the people that have put these together). If you are able to familiarize yourself with the limitations and basic system info ahead of time you'll be able to enjoy your coffee and pastries during break time.

Congrats, good luck and curse the movable stab!

Ive had an actual v1 cut (lost a FCU) in an excel and its not any worse than any other aiplane ive flown, just requires prompt imput.... That being said, Ive been to both fsi and cae, and I feel for the most part they will both prepare you for the real airplane... however if you have any questions please feel free to PM me...

I did my excell initial at FSI in San Antonio and I do the recurrents in Orlando. I prefer the Orlando center , It's newer and the staff just seems better and more helpfull. I have done a couple types in CAE Dallas also and they were top notch.
