Why do you bring up nepotism? Do you think this has been a problem?

Speaking of hiring... anyone have any updates? I know they began accepting applications. Any word on when interviews may take place or potential classes? And no... I am not related to anyone there, unfortunately.

Here's how to properly respond to a rejection of your pilot application.

Dear Chief Pilot,

Thank you for your letter of November 16th. After careful consideration, I
regret to inform you that I am unable to accept your refusal to offer me
a pilot position in your department.

This year I have been particularly fortunate in receiving an unusually
large number of rejection letters. With such a varied and promising field
of candidates, it is impossible for me to accept all refusals.

Despite Avantair's outstanding qualifications and previous experience in
rejecting applicants, I find that your rejection does not meet my needs at
this time. Therefore, I will assume a pilot position in your department
this February. I look forward to seeing you then.

Best of luck in rejecting future applicants.

Sincerely,

As far as the DO's kid getting hired as a pilot at Avantair. She is 11 years old, has 3 hours of instruction which was provided by her Father, and has accepted a class date of June 1st during school break before she enters the 6th grade. So much for trying to start a rumor about nepotism at Avantair but nice try.

So are you saying that your previous post was just pure flamebait or were you actually posting what you thought was the truth (or at least rumor)?

Thanks. That's hilarious. I needed that. Quite honestly, I would love to get a rejection letter. So far, it has just been no response from my application submissions to almost every company that I have applied too.

Let's recap:

BeenThereSpunIt posted there was an issue at Avantair with nepotism.

SideLineSam seemed to back it up with a claim that the 11 year old daughter of the DO got a pilot job with less than 1,000 hours TT. (...By the way, that's true. It's a problem because she can't airline to work unless the Captain picks her up at the airport as a UM. I've done it a few times and it's a total pain in the a$$!)

---sarcasm off---

I'm genuinely curious...does anyone think Avantair has a problem with nepotism? If so (kb), post your problem.
