Default Fractionals and hotel points.

I was under the impression that those at the fractionals keep their points when on a layover. Is this true? Are your companies paying rack or reduced rate if you are?

Thanks.

At Avantair and I think elsewhere we keep all the points. Airline miles, and rental car incentives too. I get about four free round trips on Southwest per year, and generally accumulate enough points for about eight free nights a year.

Are your overnight accomodations paid by you and reimbursed by the company? Does Avantair negotiate a reduced rate for the lodging?

In my previous life at a FLOPS, we got our hotel points everywhere we stayed with few exceptions. The exceptions were places that my employer had negotiated the points out of the rates. If or when the frac industry bounces back, I wouldn't be surprised if no points started to become more of the norm.

At a Hilton in Long Island, the manager there absolutely did not like it that most of our pilot group had Hilton Honors Diamond status. A) She didn't think we should have the status in the first place. Not to mention, she denied us free breakfast, Internet, upgraded rooms, executive lounge access and the rest of the perks that even the Gold and Silver guests got. However, our rate wasn't negotiated to exclude the issuing of points. Oh well.

Yes sir, we get to keep our points... I average about 7-8 hilton nights and lots of airline miles. if you know how to work the system you can do really good. I'm going to Costa Rica on a hiking-fishing trip, we got the whole package, so even food is included.

learn the system and you'll be all right

I'm still using Hilton points a year after furlough. And still have a USAir ticket to use. One of the perks I really miss was accumulating the points.. Along with 401k contributions, free health care, layovers, pay....

All accomodations are paid for using a company card. No money out of my pocket.

If I had that experience, I would ask my company not to put me up there.

I think Hilton would be very interested to know how one of it's property's managers was treating a Diamond member. Did you bring this up to anyone?
