BTDT may be a former employee, but he is accurate regarding the information gleaned from the crew in Dallas. Pilots were, in fact, notified in writing that if 70% don't volunteer for the 11 on/10 off/10 on/11 off schedule, the company would have to take action toward their pilots consistent with what other fractionals have done in this economy. Infer what you will from that statement.

One of their pilots told me they had 3 hiring classes this year.....albeit 1 class had only one graduate. That is good news overall. I hope they continue to hire more and more.

The latest word from their pilots is that 80% of the pilots are rejecting the 11-10 schedule proposed by management. I guess we will see by Friday's deadline.

Sure..........the vote deadline has been changed to Monday because so far the pilot group has rejected the new schedule and the CEO wants to give them more time to "consider it." However......

......he also told the pilots that as of November 1st he is dismantling the "start day" schedule that has been in place for years that is based on seniority......and he is replacing it with a new one which will let the 11-10 "volunteers" bid first instead of the pilots who are actually senior. This should make all the senior guys happy....lol

The votes are in. The pilot group overwhelmingly rejected going to a 11-10 10-11 duty schedule. The reasons cited were.....safety from crew exhaustion after 11 straight days of flying, poor quality of life, and lack of adequate compensation. Starting December 1st, those who said NO will be punished by losing their start day bids regardless of seniority. Some pilots tell me that they expect the pilots who accepted 11 day duty lines to be ostricized by the rest of the pilots. What a crappy situation for all.....

At least management is trying to show good faith by working with the pilot groups on the schedule. If I'm not mistaken, Avantair is non-union and management could impose a 20 on/ 10 off schedule if they wanted. That being said, If management wants the pilots to make some sacrifices, they need to lead by example and take some sacrifices themselves. It would make me pretty bitter if I was forced to work 10 or 11 days in a row to "save the company money" while the management is not taking any cuts. Especially if they are overpaid to begin with.

Somewhat more than not taking cuts. I wouldn't be so angry if they were taking "appropriate" measures also.
