If you are referring to the days of the original ERJ-145, I seriously doubt that after the maturation and profits Embraer made off that aircraft followed by the Ejets and Phenoms now that they will have any issues.

These are simple jets.

Embraer's niche seems to be to give you a big cabin for your money with low operating costs and performance that is somewhere around par with it's class.

They're not out to be a Citation X bragging about speed, instead, they give you a mach .8 airplane for the same price, same operating cost and a GIV cabin without the headroom... and with none of the velcro.

NetJets never got the exemption that allows them to turn off the anti-ice for takeoff to meet performance numbers like some other operators have. Therefore if anti-ice is required, it pretty much sits there until the wx changes. That doesn't sit so well with customers who watch every other jet take off safely enough while they are told they can't. I have no idea if the huge sales profits have so far been enough to offset the costs of other airframes doing so much of the flying for them. As time goes by, it is more and more likely that NJA is now losing money on the program unless they have been able to crank the operating and management fees up enough to cover it.

The Beech Jet was a bad investment all around, but you can't really blame Santulli for inking the deal. It seemed like great deal at the time..

Heard a story about a Beech jet not being able to take off out of Morristown because of light snow. MMU is at sea level, I believe they had 5 passengers, and when they plugged in the numbers, the computer said "oh hell no". I know, I had to divert in there to do the trip.

I have heard that the mighty 400 is actually quite popular and able to do the job most of the time for NJE. Maybe they will have as many as possible NJA based 400s migrate across the pond as light jet demand improves over there. At the time of the purchase NJA couldn't get jets fast enough so I'm sure that adding another at a great price just seemed too good an idea to pass up.

I don't even think the Beechjet can get out of Morristown with the noise abatement requirements on the wrong day!
