Default Recent Avantair Info

Anyone with recent Avantair information? There seems little out there including on its own website regarding pilots. Is it true they have a non-prorated training contract? How is the work life? I understand interviewees have to pay all costs to get to the interview. I don't want to do that without knowing more about the company. Thanks for any help.

It is true there is an $18k training contract, and it is not pro rated. The schedule is supposed to be 7.5 on, 6.5 off, but it's really 8/6.

From what I understand, you do have to pay all costs to get yourself to the interview, but I've heard they will eventually reimburse you for the cost of the plane ticket if they hire you. If you have any specific questions, I'll try and answer them for you.

Thanks. That's all I need to know for know - I'm not ready to commit yet.

Avantair usually shows up at the AirInc job fairs (one in DC this coming weekend). The job fairs are about every two months (www.jet-jobs.com). Their top HR person is there as well as one of their chief pilots. They can answer any and all questions.

Actually, it's usually the DO and his "assistant" that show up. I haven't heard the presentation, but as an employee, I can say it's probably not entirely true....
