Maybe, but in winter of '07/'08 he needed every person and plane he could get his hands on..So the business was there. And will be there again. Just a matter if mis-managment will attempt to keep their market share.
I say it's all a bluff. Union busting at it's lamest.
(just don't plan your life on that opinion)

Gentlemen, please excuse me for barging in to your discussion. I've been reading this topic with great interest.
I have an open question for you all. My goal since becoming a professional pilot has been to work for NetJets. I am not interested in airlines. Bizjets are where my interests lie. From what I gather in this thread, NJA is a good company to work for, but it has it's faults. I realize many of you are furloughed and waiting for your callback. I wouldn't think of competing for a job someone else is waiting to get back.
I have to ask, can you guys, in the know, speculate when new hiring might begin? We're all certainly waiting for the economy to improve, but I'm confident it will eventually. Would you NetJets guys mind telling me about your positive experiences with the company?

Wow....
I get it. You want on with NetJets and that's fine. But reality is there are furloughs, down sizing on the horizon and no hint of future hiring. Everything I've said here is OBVIOUS to anyone "reading this topic with great interest".
You are not getting on with NetJets for the foreseeable future and that assumes you are qualified right now.
Seeing as your last was your first post I'm assuming you are not qualified now. Find a job that pays and see where you are in five years or so. Re-evaluate and then make decisions with first hand information. Sorry if this offends. Truth is rare these days.

No, I'm not offended, just hopeful. I appreciate your honesty.
I have a good job now and lack 150 hours before I reach NetJet's minimums. Some of the other threads here are saying the other fractionals are starting to recall furloughed pilots. I thought that NetJets would be headed the same direction. If not, well, I'll look elsewhere. It's just time for me to grow as a pilot, and in a normal economy, that would probably wouldn't be an unreasonable expectation. I have been reading "with great interest" about Netjets trying to get a feel for where my chances stand. I guess I know now.

In all sincerity, why would you want to pursue a career at Netjets? The company seems to be collapsing on itself while management helps facilitate its demise. They spent money they didn't have, replaced top management that is clueless and now seem to be doing nothing but watch it burn.....trust me go get your MBA, JD, heck even a CDL and run from this profession.....you'd be much better off.
I understand your enthusiasm, but Netjets has ruined a lot of very hard working pilots' lives...and seem hell bent on continuing that theme.

I'm just doing some research to plan my next job search. Part of that is getting on this thread and asking questions, however dumb they may sound. I couldn't discern whether the guys posting here were just disgruntled furloughees, or if they truly had wisdom to impart. My heart is not broken over NJ condition. I'll just broaden my aim.
Other sites I've been reading are saying the largest pilot shortage in history is about to occur. I was hoping someone was going to say "things are not good now, but we expect them to improve". That's okay. I'm convinced to stay away from NJ.
Thanks for your reply.

While NJA is not doing very well employment wise ( they are supposedly profitable) it should be noted that Glasspilot does not work for NJA. So his opinion is based on speculation and rumors from websites..Nothing more. (sure he may know someone here, but so does everybody.)
But I will agree that there is no hope for interviewing for atleast 5 years (being very conservative)

We are pilots and the vast majority of pilots love to complain and most always believe the grass is greener somewhere else.
...until the wheels fall off, I will continue to ***** and moan like most.
