Default What are my chances?

Ok...give it to me honest.

I'm prior military (KC-135), with a little over 2,500TT, 2,400+ ME (all jet), and a little over 500PIC. Currently with a 121 regional, but I'd rather fly 135. I've never even met an XOJet pilot...so no internal rec.

What are my chances of getting an interview?

Your flight time is fine. Unfortunately, without an internal recommendation or job fair, I'd say your chances are low. If you have an internal rec or meet the recruiter at a job fair, your chances would be very high.

Many thanks!

Now I just need to find the next job fair you guys will attend, or meet you in Wichita next time you bring an aircraft in for inspections. Let me know if any of you guys travel through Jabara or Mid-Continent soon...I'll bring donuts and coffee. (A stronger beverage if you're off duty)

I’ve flown with enough guys lately where all they did was attend a job fair and were subsequently called. While having an internal rec may still weigh heavily, rest easy that a lot have been hired without knowing anyone.

Had a phone interview without any recs. Just submitted a app online and got a email a week later. YMMV.

Default Well...

Here's hoping: I filled out my my online app today. We shall see if this is an HR game to get your app looked at (re: United) or if real people look at who has applied.

Hope to join you fellas soon...

Can anyone provide any details on the new 18 day flex schedule? I saw it was added to the xojet profile last week.

Why 135? A major or a legacy carrier is not something you would want? If you stick it out a little longer at your current employer you would think the majors would be calling.

Hard to understand but then again some people just dont want to move to base or live in a place hard to commute from. I get not wanting to leave your roots and your community. The other thing I think happens, happened to me, is when you fly for the regionals for so long you get a warped perception of what working for the Majors would be like and its a hard rut to get your brain out of. I came to XO thinking "ah yes, I got it made". And while i am having a great time, enjoyed the quick upgrade, in the 3 years I have been hear it was enough for me to know I want to go back to 121. That and Having friends now at Delta, Southwest, Fedex, etc. telling me how great it is, how good the commuting policies are and so on has me more than enough convinced to get back.

different strokes for different fokes, or maybe just need enlightenment from working at a 135 gig for a few years to really decide.

What are company bases? I understand pilots are home based but can pilot fly out of any airline serviced airport?
